- Back into the fields this week trying to make dry hay out of our second cut. Unfortunately, when it comes to hay, Mother Nature and I butt heads. A last minute change of forecast means scrambling around, calling in favours from awesome friends to get the hay baled and wrapped before the rain. Only to finish, and no rain. The struggle is real.
On a brighter note, we were able to get hay done just in time for Jessica's 15th birthday. Thanks to Dairy Queen for the ice cream cake. I was in no humour to make one.

Oh Sandi, How that lamb jumps up screaming in his language "Me me, I want a bottle" was just precious!!! And it's knee patch OMGosh!!! In stressful times of hay baling, it's great that you have such good friend and workers to count on to help lighten the burden. You all work so well together.
My most favorite lamb yet is the one with black rings around the eyes and the black spot on her leg. She’s a tiny sweet baby.

Gosh darn it! That little lamb is adorable! So cute and it's "I'm starving!!" response to your voice, or the word "bottle" was a real smile maker, for sure.
Someone else called it "Specs" and it's spectacles are certainly sweet but I love the big patch on its knee.

Jack was a surly teen in front of the whole world, that’s the kind of thing you only do once. I’m sure no one in the car was that bothered by it because teens are sassy sometimes but when you record everything & post it you open yourself up to other people’s opinions on your family. I Couldn’t do it

Sandi did keep Poppy's baby. Her name is Popcorn and she just moved to the Golden Girls retirement barn a few months ago (Spring 2024).

How is Rosie doing?
Oh boy... you're killing me this morning... LOL. So Rosie was a fighter and made it all the way to weaning day! Unfortunately, my proportioner in the finishing barn had some issues and the ratio of corn to supplement was WAYYYY OFF!! I lost 10 beautiful lambs over 2 days from grain overload. Rosie was one of them. Now THAT was a bad day.
