    Hi, Anoosha. In regards to the teleprompter idea: there are actually apps that you can install on your phone or tablet that act as a teleprompter. You can adjust the font size and color as well as the background color and scroll speed. Hope that helps; love your videos!

    Hey Anoosha, I find your channel inspiring. I’m a paediatrician but I’m also a self-taught artist and I have always wanted to start illustrating children’s books. I replay your YT videos while I work at home. Can you please show us how you designed and constructed your resume? I would also like to see how you designed your professional cards. They’re so cute! Hope to meet you one day when I move to Ontario. Can you also let us know of artist related in-person or virtual events and exhibitions that you like/attend?

    The discussion about your name pronunciation reminded of how I would automatically know when my name was next on the attendance list, as there would always be a pause. I would just say: "It's Anjuman, but you can call me Anj", and the teachers always thanked me because they were afraid of butchering it. However, I once had a substitute teacher in grade 8 that pronounced my name: "Angleman", I was really caught off guard, and everyone in my class laughed out loud.

    So interesting, I’m a traditional artist that desperately wants to be good at digital art! Complete opposite! Every time I sit down to do something on the iPad, I get frustrated and just go back to work traditionally. I find that I love the speed and versatility of digital, but nothing feels like an actual brush on actual watercolor paper. The only app that comes close is Fresco with their Live Brushes. I’m to the point I’m going to have to take some classes on digital. My goal is to be good at both!

  • @eriberart
    @eriberart Před 3 lety

    Hi! I love your content. Do you do all your revisions on procreate too? How do you deal with the loss of quality using the transform tool on procreate? It’s one of the reasons I can’t completely leave photoshop behind 😭 For example when you moved the lion leaving to the back and the family to the front, do you redraw them completely or is there some procreate hack I’m missing here haha

    • @AnooshaSyed
      @AnooshaSyed  Před 3 lety +1

      The transform tool is horrible on procreate! I try to really avoid using it when I get to final art so I don’t have any loss in quality, and if I really need to transform something I’ll upload to photoshop, tweak it, and bring back to procreate. It’s not ideal but it works for me since I don’t need to use it too much.
      For revisions/sketch stage, I use the transform tool as needed and used it for the lion in my video. Since it’s all rough work it’s fine if it gets a little blurry and fuzzy, I don’t mind and the client doesn’t either. I also try to make sure my final sketch is as finished as possible so that when I get to work on the final color, I don’t really need to use transform bc my foundation is perfect.

      @eriberart Před 3 lety +1

      @@AnooshaSyed Ah okay you have a similar process to me then, I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I could do on procreate that I was missing 🤣 All I want on procreate is decent transform tool and clipping masks for groups 😂

    Hey Anoosha! I noticed in some of your videos you talk about an animation job too. I was wondering, do you think it is possible to be book illustrator and have another job at the same time, then? I actually am in university but in an unrelated major, but illustrating is a big big passion of mine so I didn't wanna give up that either. Thank you very much this has been bothering me a lot.

    • @AnooshaSyed
      @AnooshaSyed  Před 3 lety +1

      Totally possible to do both! If you are mindful about how much book work you take on, then there’s no reason why you can’t have a full time job on top as well. Since freelance illustration can be unsteady/inconsistent especially at the beginning, it’s very common for artists to have a full time or part time job on top of freelance so there’s steady income, benefits, or just because they have other passions. At some point I’ll be looking into full time animation work to shake things up a bit, and when that ha-pens I’ll just make sure to only work on 1 book a year rather than 3 so it’s easier on me.

    • @jadea.558
      @jadea.558 Před 3 lety

      @@AnooshaSyed thank you so much for the response. Ive actually been thinking about whether i should quit my current major (dont get me wrong i still like it) and go into animation or illustration, but that would be risky and also a stressing experience becaude of my family and the risk itself. This has been making me really nervous. So you think there is no reason for me to trade one for anotber in the end?
      Also, can i still be represented by an agent if do it while having another job? Tyvm

    I know this is a year too late but it’s better to knit with 2 needles and not the circular one. As for mispronouncing your name……..I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. All my life people mispronounced my name and I find it disrespectful. I get called Marylou, Marrylou, Marie, Marlouise, and it’s not rocket science. I worked with people for 2 decades and at my leaving party I asked all 20 something of my peers how to say it…….ALL WRONG 😑 it kinda summed up where I ranked in their opinion.
