- This is the first video in a new series we will be releasing on basic gold prospecting and answering commonly asked questions. We get this question a lot - will my detector pick up fine alluvial (placer) gold concentrations? We hope you enjoy this video and please feel free to comment and add your experiences to the knowledge base. Happy Fossicking to you all! Warren and Colleen.

Thanks for watching everyone - just a quick note regarding the audio on this video - it was recorded with a Rode Video Micro directional shotgun mic, so the response from from the Garrett Axiom speaker is very good since the speaker is located on the rear right-hand side of the machine. The speaker on the Garrett Goldmaster 24K is on the front of the control box (i.e. away from the recording mic). The 24K response was very positive and would be much clearer in headphones in a normal prospecting situation, the lower audio is simply a result of the audio equipment used. Cheers. Warren.
Great informative video as always is can't wait for more of them
Awesome video Warren thank you for sharing with us. Good luck to you two.

The deus orx runs at a higher frequency than the gold master,so it will pick up tiny pieces....What I,d like to see is the deus in a western australian gold field...Thx for the demo Warren I still have a pro international... which I wont part with..
How come Ben doesn’t do the live show anymore?
Ben has sold his shop some time back, which is where he had his studio setup. Cheers - Happy Fossicking! Warren.
