I have Hopi by marriage in my family and studied Hopi prophecy for decades. Incredible! This is one of the reasons why I moved into the mountains 27 years ago. Very tough to live independently. In this case especially, using the passive construction -- what "happened" to indigenous people, rather than what was, and is, actively done to them -- holds back from assigning responsibility for the abuse. The failure of people to demand that our leaders take responsibility for this abuse is ongoing, in the same way that we have failed to demand accountability for the practice of slavery of Africans in the US. Dehumanization has been a foundational practice in the US from the beginning. It is past time for us to acknowledge this abuse and put a stop to it.

I still remember back in the summer of 1998,hitching a ride towards the Hopi rez on my way to the Navajo Nation.I was walking alone on the road saying to myself I would be happy dying here.I walked for a couple of hours and my thirst was quenching for water.It was mid day and the terrain was so hot.I knew something good was coming my way,but what?Something took out of Hollywood,CA so I knew it had to be good.I felt like I was In a movie and there was much ahead of me to learn.The moment I was picked up by some Hopi"s,I knew my life was going to change.I would pay hundreds of dollars to go through all that again.I could never imagine all the wisdom I was learning not just about life but my TRUE SELF and my purpose in this demented world.I still think about you and I thank you,I thank you.

Thomas Banyacya was from Second Mesa on the Hopi reserve in Arizona. There is no "Hopi clan" in New Mexico. The Hopi have been on First, Second and Third Mesa in Arizona for over a thousand years.
Lots of hopi indian children were given to British families in early 1900s. So many are hopi and have no clue. The research I've done.

I quit school, I was being beaten at school. Then the state put me in a catholic children's home . I had to live as a ward of the state until I got married. So, I understand a little of what native children had to endure.
We come from and reside all over this world we call home, literally our house! Some are First Nations, so many different cultures and different colours of skin and shapes, from our eyes, noses, lips and differences of cultures (yet today we are hearing the similarities within the stories). What we should be made aware of is that we do reap all the benefits of these horroble actions, and we should feel guilty for having these benefits without trying to give back to the people who suffer because of it.

My mothers husband is part Cherokee and has taught us the ways of honoring the Great Spirit, by planting and growing our own food, giving back to the world when we take something of her wilderness, such as; herbs and other supplements that are essential to our bodies and our sprouting trees within us. As children we were already pretty world wise and loved being outside. We would dig all kinds of holes and even attempted to build a robot once out of an old matress and some dryer venting.. lol...

The actual number was more around 85 million in 1200 AD. When Red Cloud says peoples he was referring to all of the peoples not just those that were living in what is now the USA. @@chandraravikumar The important part to remember is that only a small number are the ones that make up the lies, and then with any people that take over other countries. The average person that is told to do things they know not what they are doing, they know little of the people that they are invading other than what they are told from the higher ups. Then if they spend enough time with the people (something that the commanders do not want for obvious reasons) they are able to learn about the lies and actually see that they are pawns in the overall plan.
There are few reasons why countries are invaded the 1st is because of natural resources, the 2nd is for land and property. The same for any invading country, and this is why it is a good idea for countries to have a militia that is well trained and armed. Our culture and greed has disconnected us from not only nature but from ourselves and each other. Not many people are aware of this as we don't bleat on about it, that was then, this is now. I want to learn of our Cherokee ancestry. My great great great grandma was full blooded Cherokee on my moms moms side. My moms dads side had 3 men from England that had killed 8 people in AL then hid in a tribe in MS not far from where I live now. Then they went to Oklahoma reservation where they each took a wife and lived. All I know is all of her dads family are short and tiny with jet black hair. My mom is short and small. But we don’t know much.

I believe the Hopi would like to know of my forest. In 1958, I was 12 years old, I had a vision, if you've had one, they appear to be designed to terrify you to the point you cannot disobey, I saw, felt, smelled and heard the world dying, at the end a woman spoke and told me that I wished to eat in the future, to plant a forest, I bought my first trees that Fall, sixty two years I dug, breaking the heavy clay loam that was severely compacted by a rail spur built with oxen, about like adobe clay, wore out two sets of heavy posthole diggers In the late 1980's the County Agent decided he wanted records of all I planted, I told him I had not save them, didn't know I was doing anything they'd be interested in, but I'd keep a copy for him from then on, in 2006, I believe, he registered my forest, people got upset! They told us that, Arborday & American forest, they had no records of anyone else ever having planted a 4,000 species forest, their count, I didn't count, still don't! A lot of officials got bent out of shape over my religion, my family is one of the oldest known, we never converted to christianity, so I decided to keep the forest as 'Academic Only', they made certain to bad mouth me at every turn, once a guy I knew wanted to be married, so I allowed them to use my forest - Next day the cops were out telling folks I was holding full moon rituals for the Hell's Angels, this is Outlaw Territory, but I didn't think it would have been illegal in any way. They made such a fuss that I never got recognition, but man, you ought to see my record, I'm a whole crime wave all by myself, I haven't done anything but plant trees and plants, tried as best I could to fix the forest back the way it was before the Carpet Baggers raped it. They can see the forest on Facebook, I posted about sixty hours of it for the poor crippled and maimed children of Palestine, the ones with no pain meds or other relief because of Israel, I thought it might aid them in momentary diversion from the hellish pains of illegal war! Please tell the Hopi if they come this way they would be welcome to see it
