Halal Chinese Zi Char BBQ Seafood @ Our Tampines Hub Hawker Centre, Singapore

Alhamdulillah! Last week, we found ourselves eagerly entering the vibrant ambiance of the Hawker Centre at Our Tampines Hub to dine at Jian Fa Bbq Seafood. Located in the eastern region of Singapore, just a 5-minute walk from Tampines MRT Station (DT32), the hawker stall beckoned with promises of delectable flavors of the Chinese Zi Char style.
As we took our seats, we were embraced by the tantalising aroma of barbecue and the lively chatter of fellow diners. Amid animated conversations, the atmosphere became a celebration - of friendship and the promise of an amazing meal.
We kicked off our gastronomic journey with an array of local dishes, including Singapore's national seafood dish, the Chilli Crab with Fried Mantou (Buns), tantalising Curry Fish Head, Seafood Fried Rice, creamy Salted Egg Yolk Chicken, Barbecue Stingray with flavorful chili paste, crispy fried Baby Squid, Sambal Kang Kong, and the juicy Sambal Sotong (Squid).
The highlight of the evening was, of course, the stir-fried chili crabs, which hit all the right spots with thick, tangy gravy that seeped into the succulent flesh of the crabs. It was supremely satisfying when the sauce got all over our fingers as we cracked open the crab shells. Savory and mildly spicy, it was simply impossible not to lick the chili crab sauce all up and indulge in the fried Mantou (Buns) that were soaked in it.
As the night unfolded, Jian Fa BBQ Seafood wove its magic. The blend of exquisite flavors and joyous camaraderie made this dining experience personal and unforgettable. We also spoke to the owner, who shared why she established a Halal BBQ Seafood Chinese Zi Char stall. She told us that besides enjoying Zi Char food, she has many Muslim friends whom she would like to share that joy with, but it is hard to find Halal Chinese Zi Char in Singapore. So, she started this business to bring delicious Chinese Zi Char food to the Muslim community. Currently, she has two stalls, one at Tampines Hub and another at Newton Food Centre, so drop by their hawker stalls with your family and friends to support her business. 🙂
