Muslim Owned Halal Bak Kut Teh from Singapore - Wonk Cooks

Alhamdulillah! In the heart of a serene neighbourhood, my wife and I found a gem that tantalised our taste buds and warmed our hearts. Last week, ​we had the pleasure of visiting​ a Chinese Muslim revert home for a delicious meal.
The home of Wayne Wong, a devoted family man and entrepreneur, opened its doors to us, revealing a culinary haven where tradition and passion simmered in every pot. Wayne, alongside his lovely wife Rihanna, has perfected the art of Bak Kut Teh, an authentic ​local Beef Ribs Meat Bone Soup.
As we stepped into their welcoming home, the rich, aromatic scent of simmering broth enveloped us, promising a meal that would linger in our memories long after the last spoonful.
The couple's home-based business is a testament to their dedication and love for Chinese cuisine. Our meal began with an array of mouthwatering dishes, steamed garlic tiger prawns, Thai-style steamed sea bass, French beans garnished with fried shrimp, and a refreshing Thai salad, these side dishes complemented the main course.
Following which, we had a flavourful burst of spices and herbs, the hallmark of true Bak Kut Teh. Each mouthful of tender beef ribs, infused with the essence of the broth, was a delightful journey through layers of taste and tradition.
Wayne and Rihanna's hospitality extended beyond the kitchen. They shared why they started this business, their love for Chinese food, and the joy they find in serving their community. Their warmth and genuine passion made us feel like cherished guests rather than mere customers. As we savoured the last drops of the delicious soup, my wife and I exchanged satisfied smiles.
Our visit to Wayne Wong's home was more than just a meal; it was an experience that celebrated the richness of Chinese cuisine and the beauty of sharing it with others.
