Hi Ashley, I think this was an amazing video. I think because your whole channel is based off of how many rare plants you have, how to check for blight, rare plant haul, guess the price of my rare plant, etc, it can easily give you a label that you know your shit and you know that you're the shit, y'know? It's kind of like Kaylee Ellen, she's a sweet girl irl but just based off on her channel theme meant to teach, inform, to call scammers out, and freaking out about someone selling albo soil as a joke, etc it really gives her a strict and uptight vibe. When you described that people get rubbed the wrong way by you, that might be what's going on in a weird way. When you opened up about the root rot, how you don't want people to call you albo queen, and that you're still learning, I finally feel like I know what you're about now. Someone who's still learning, but just wants to share her plant experience. I used to think you were a "plant expert" like House Plant Journal, who's clearly not an expert imo - he doesn't even know the names of many common philos but gives autographs? and recommends expensive light measuring gadgets? Vibes are weird. Totally uncalled for, sometimes unreasonably illogical, but vibes man. When you compare youtubers like Harli G, Lessya's Leaves, BeBee Plants, Julie Nicole, you totally get different vibes to Kaylee Ellen, Nick Pileggi, Planterina, and Summer Rayne Oakes. Idk this comment is really stupid but it might give you some insight.

Plants area learning process and it takes time and experience and the best thing about your channel is people give good advice. It's sort of a mystery mix looking at the soil from the nursery don't take it out on yourself so harshly if you saw what happened to one of my begonia's you sear it was a crime scene. I’m having trouble with my monstera too! It appears to be root rot? But the soil was drying out so quickly and the younger leaves would droop but perk up after watering, all the sudden there are brown spots on the leaves that are just getting worse, I keep having this issue with my monstera but I hear it loves moisture and I fear of it being dry too long, but I guess it seems to like that for me smh

my monstera also had root rot when i took it out today, surprisingly i thought more roots had rotted similar to yours, but most of the darkened and black looking roots are just like that because the soil is stuck to it! if they feel firm, you can definitely scrape the soil off with your fingers and it might reveal a strong white root underneath :) i'd recommend to make sure to get as much soil off of the roots as you can before cutting off what you know is rot! and then i washed it well with water and castile soap, dusted it with cinnamon to prevent further rot, and it's currently air drying before i propagate it in water tomorrow :)

Hi Ashley, love the video as usual!! I was just wondering if you could do a video on leaf hardening to prevent the variegated parts of the leaves turning brown and see if it actually works? I've never heard of this before and was always under the impression that it's just inevitable that big chunks of white will eventually turn brown? I have a half and half albo that I've been slowly snipping away at and would love to know how to stop it from browning haha, the poor guy doesn't seem to care no matter how much humidity it's getting xx

    I need your expertise!
I got a monstera albo borsigiana cutting almost 2 months ago. I had set it straight into water to let the roots take.
I was THRILLED to see 2 beautiful white roots come out about 2 weeks in ! Huzzah! My expensive plant may survive! I transplanted the cutting into a soil/fertiziler/water slosh in a jar to help ease the transition to soil. I realise now this was a terrible decision.
I left the cutting in there for about a week, and I've noticed today the leaf going yellow. I wouldn't say there was much prior to this morning. I've changed out the soil, rinsed the cutting, repotted with normal soil mixture (with perlite for drainage) and gave it a hydrogen peroxide bath! I should've taken some photos.. but the plant definitely had rot! Terrible odor, with the roots that had grown to be no where in sight :( I think they went brown! I cut away the largely rotten part of the STEM but thought I'd let the hydrogen peroxide do the rest of the work...
ANY help, suggestions, or commiserations welcome

Hi Princess! Don't worry about taking sides. That is not what should be anyone's focus. It is about what you deeply believe in. And that does not depend in any way on how others feel. How others feel on any particular subject is their business and their right whether its based on facts or not. A belief in something should always be based on things that are factual, happening in real life, or a natural consequence, not on feeling alone or at all if it can be helped. The truth of something always wins. You are a sensible young Princess. Fun, silly when you want to be, forwarding your life, and always thinking and analyzing, Excellent. NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS, always be true to yourself because that way you remain HAPPY. And don't settle for any boyfriend that doesn't contribute to your happiness. A boyfriend can not give you happiness. That's way too much to ask of another human being. One can only bring more joy and happiness to another. Your friend seems like a nice young man. I wish him the best also. Life should be beautiful for the young. There will be ups and downs but you'll be strong enough to handle them. Do not even try to make everyone happy because that too is a heavy task. Humans are so different one from another. Just be yourself, be kind, and who accepts you accepts you, who doesn't leave them alone. Someone else can fill their space to give them what they need. Do not waste too much time in your plant world with those who bring unconstuctive negative comments. Especially if its constant. Block them and move on with the JOY of all the others in the plant world who agree with your podcast. Stay free in your spirit everyday. Don't let anyone clog you with unnecessaries. Plant on Princess. Plant on.

Root rot is serious thing in trees too. I had a declining ash tree completely uproot on me as soon as I put tension on the rope to pull it into the woods and the root ball was almost rotted out, and there was a small spring running under the ground where the tree grew. At least with plants it looks a lot safer lol. As for gloves you should look into gloveworks latex gloves in small, they're cheap on amazon. Happy planting!

I'm so stupid i think i killed my njoy pothos huhu soooo, i was so afraid to go back to the kitchen i drained my noodle water on my njoy pot outside my window. I'm not sure if that caused the browning of ghe leaves or because I left it on direct sunlight huhuhu HALP MEEEEEEEEEEEE

You should take cuttings of the alive leaves and propagate them

Hi, not trying to act like I had never had a plant die on me, but I definitely use Clay pots that are not painted and my plant are doing better.
