    this walrus looks way better than the ones in zoos i've seen on some other vids on youtube. eyes blood shot, skin dry and a pale body language. whereas this walrus, this walrus is really in his right element and it's fantastic to see

    Love Paul’s encounters with wild creatures in the ocean. I never forget when he was diving close to a sperm whale and his encounter with the leopard seal.

    Walruses look mean but they are positively mild, benign creatures. Unless you are a mollusk.

      They are still wild creatures, and any wild creature can be unpredictable. Walruses deserve a lot of respect, caution, and distance.

    In the last 7 years, the stars of these video are the photographers, not the wild life. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

      cause national geographic started off with magazine, so those stars (animal/nature) u were mentioned are in the magazine. while in their tv channel or youtube video channel, they can show behind the scene or give credits to these awesome photographers. these videos showed it's not easy to take those kinda shots. I have no problem with that

      So glad I am not alone! When I watch a documentary I want to see the wildlife not how they captured it, otherwise I would watch a documentary on filming. The worst is BBC blue planet etc where 15% of the WHOLE episode is saying LOOK HOW WE ACHIEVED THIS WE ARE SO AMAZING.

      You're not wrong, but the way I see it is it takes an incredible amount of logistic preparation and talent to put a package like this together. In a way, we are acclimated to viewing wildlife photography but how these pictures are taken is largely a mystery of which these videos provide fascinating insight

    Okay, my question is, why is he using a weight belt of 40 pounds? I mean, considering his approximate body weight, this is twice of a regular mass. Does it have something to do with the dry suit, or with the specific conditions of the water they are diving in?

    For years I have been looking for a video of a walrus hunting or feeding. This is the first time I see it. I thought they hunted for fish. Now I know they are just manatees with tusk. :/ Darn....

      Manatees are herbivores though, I get what you mean though, walruses aren't super aggressive because their prey isn't very fast at all.

    They allege they eat 2-3,000 clams a day. I don;t think so. How can an animalso large eat so little food? Sam goes with elephant seals. How can such multi-ton animals survive by eating so little food?
