Thank you so much for making these videos! I have been seriously considering moving to Malaysia with my family sometime this year. We are going to visit in September. I've lived in Canada and the states my whole life... but these past few years I have really wanted to leave and live in a muslim country. Life here is increasingly more and more suffocating, especially with a lot of things that are beings pushed in schools/ how our tax dollars are funding genocide. It's so difficult being a muslim in the West and I truly feel the quality of life in other parts of the world is honestly so much better. Honestly, just having access to halal food everywhere, hearing the azan, for the hijab to be absolutely normalized... would be such great blessings. I visited Malaysia many years ago and really enjoyed it.

If your children go to international school in Malaysia, they get student’s visa + one guardian visa (the mother) whilst the father works abroad and sends money to the family. A lot of korean families do this

    • @XenoAep
      @XenoAep Před 2 měsíci +7

Our family did that. We got dependent visa for me (mom) through our kids international school. But we hated not having my husband live with us. Unfortunately we made the difficult decision to leave Malaysia to be together. Never will we ever settle a country that doesn't let us live together. It is a beautiful country and I loved it so much.

@@XenoAepto be honest, it’s ridiculous isnt it. I know some families do this, but i cant. Also why these visas (mm2h, dependent visa etc) dont allow the person to work. They are already in the country, let them work & pay tax 🤦🏻‍♀️. I would like to get mm2h for my husband (longer validity) but if he’s “not allowed to work” then how are we gonna pay rm170k school fees for two kids. My husband works for himself & online, also employs me, all income from abroad, and we would like to transfer the tax into malaysia… i’m yet to decide which visa is suitable to for him.

The most important thing that changed in our lives is ? REMOTE WORK , and especially after Covid-19.
People found ways to work from home.
That takes us to another level ?
Can my home be in Malaysia 🇲🇾 and I remote work for a company in London or Dubai?
This is the big question NOW.
I think it will happen or it is happening NOW.
20 years ago, some architectural firms in America started something called at that time flex schedule, I know the title is misleading. You are a female architect, you are a mother and got infant children.
All your work is on the computer.
You meet your clients in the office, get their specs on their house and that is it.
You go to your home and design everything from the comfort of your home with your kids by your side.
You don’t need supervision, because you have to produce the plans for the house.
Questions and other matters could be Handled by phone then.
I think you are getting what I am trying to say.
Do we live in a world today, where you can live anywhere in the world you want and work remotely anywhere in the world you want ?
Obviously, not all jobs can be done remotely.
      So choose your career wisely.

Rental of 500 to 1000 Ringgit will only get you a room in KL unless you want to stay in a dilapidated unit and in a remote area. You would need to live on a very small town to rent on that budget. Not possible in Penang or Johor Bahru either.May not be practical for someone who doesn't speak local languages to stay in a small town. A more reasonable budget would be 1.5k to 2k for a 2 bedroom condo , or a landed house but it wont be in a gated guarded estate .
I doubt you could live comfortably on 3k Ringgit. I am Malaysian btw. With a family you would need 10k if there are 4 of you . Not including sch fees.

Depending on what is your expectations, living in Malaysia is wonderful, but opportunities are null for foreign students, for engineering students basically even mandatory internships . IT comSci students might get Jobs but odds are not getting one is higher becasue of immigration laws. @@silversurfer6758 yes, there’s actually no prospective in Malaysia. Education is good in a sense that you get educated in top universities rank wise with reasonable amount of money. But nowadays it’s not that reasonable though in my opinion. I said before for engineering is null opportunity. For IT , yes little bit, for example i know one IT person who topped his interview in a MNC, and there were no competent local in that position, yet he got rejected 2time by local authorities and 1 time at immigration, his MNC company had to wait 8months and raise his salary to match Immigration requirements, which is quite high for Grad students. In my view , you need approximately RM7000.00 per month to live in Malaysia. Groceries can set you back RM2,500.00 for a 4 member family. Rental is Rm1,500.00 in Subang Jaya. Car instalment can be RM800.00. Petrol RM150.00 per month. Utilities Electricity RM300.00 per month, Water RM20.00 . Internet RM150.00. Medical RM200.00 (provision) no hospitalization. Incidentals approximately RM1000.00 per month. Your job should pay you RM 8000.00 per month at least up to this point.
This is normal lifestyle. I have not factored in education. Private education per child can be RM3000.00 per month in International Schools. With children dont ever think of coming if you are not earning RM15,000.00 per month at least net of tax. It is not all that rosy out here.

I'd be interested in your upcoming videos into specific areas: schooling, living costs etc. Also can you shed some light on any particular job search websites and guidance on going through the work visa process. If you know of anyone whose gone through the work visa process and can do a guest appearance that would be great. Thank you!

Me as a Malaysian will advice you to search for a job in jobseeker website. Honestly, the job that available for the foreigner mostly only in the management level. The nxt best option is if you open your own business and have a special contract with a local companies as a consultant or service provider.

Good video! See in Morocco, the residency visas for a European/American costs £10 to apply and extremely easy! That's about 2yrs stay. And then you can renew for another 5yrs or 10yrs. So it's stressless.

Visa in Malaysia is free and 3 months is automatically given to most countries, but she's talking about residency - how to stay in Malaysia with no visa but as a resident.

@@nutzhazel sorry I should have made it clear, visa is free in Morocco too, and if you do in and out you can automatically renew your visa in Morocco for years and years.... However, if you apply for residency it only costs £10 per application.

What happens after the 5 year visa is up? I get it's renewable, but i guess the risk is that the Government could change the requirements like they did i think during covid? Meaning if you can't meet the new requirements you can't renew the visa

Thank you for these videos. I’ve had a look into the mm2h and from my understanding you can only withdraw HALF of the deposit for the visa after one year for property purchases, healthcare etc. Does the rest then have to remain in the account. Also I saw that when renewing after the 5 years (for the silver eg), you need to prove offshore income still of that 10k ringgit monthly. Am I misinformed because the above has put me off the move

Sister, Ramadan Mubarak. Thanks for this video. It makes things much clearer. So, I already have a remote job where I can basically work from home and its decent and sounds like I can make a living with plenty to spare. However say that time difference makes it hard, and i wanted to find something in Malaysia, how difficult would it be? Do they require Degree? I am only educated to A levels. But I have Scuba Diving instructor qualifications. Or maybe teaching English Classes? My wife can teach French and Arabic too. We eventually want to be business owners and want to move but i am afraid we dont have that capital to put upfront. So is there any other alternative visa route? Also let me know if we can discuss this elsewhere? If here is not appropriate ...

A Big Mac meal costs 16 Ringgit and a KFC snack plate costs 21Ringgit. If you grab coffee at Starbucks it would cost anything from 15 to 25 Ringgit just for the coffee. Good luck trying to live on the numbers she is putting out. I am living in Malaysia currently. Just my electricity bill is 800 Ringgit because we run 2 Aircons at night and 1 for 8 hours a day while working from home.
My family of 3 lives comfortably on 8k Ringgit a month not including rent or mortgage. Our house is fully paid. But I pay property taxes of over 1K Ringgit per year.
