Turkish novel:
It is said that the Turks were the first to prepare shawarma, and they called it ceverem, which means rotating the skewer in front of the fire. The first one who invented it was Mehmet Iskandar in the Turkish city of Bursa in 1870, whose grandchildren confirm that he is the first owner of a vertical shawarma skewer in the world.
