Harper Finkle is an exception to the DIY clothes being horrible in Disney Channel shows. Her outfits were ridiculous but they were iconic and she was aware of them being odd.
I loved her she knew that her outfits were were considered weird but she continued to dress the way she wanted, she's an exception I loved seeing her so happy about a new dress she designed
Also, her clothes looked like clothes. She never really looked like she was wearing a costume, it was how she dressed. Plus she always switched it up, some of my favorites of her outfits were the layered earth tones she would have on. It wasn't constantly "Loud for the sake of being loud"
@@sebastianmaker6798 I love that they also acknowledge the outfits in the show. Like she knows that her outfits are unusual and she owns it. They even fit her wardrobe tastes into plot points in the show so it has a lot of purpose. Like when she made like 20 outfits for a fashion show or when she made the marker dress and was able to rescue Juliet from the monster hunters by switching dresses and masking her scent.
I actually had a friend in high school that dressed up in crazy outfits every day. I thought they were cool and she was super sweet, one of the nicest and coolest people I've met

I dunno, that type of positive energy is something I'd probably enjoy in my life. It may get obnoxious and tiring at some points, but at the end of the day, its always nice to see someone excited to do stuff.
Really, I just can't help but smile when I see someone enjoying their day for the most stupid reason. Like a friend who told me how great it made his day to see a caterpillar outside of school. Talking with this person at lunch would be awesome.

The only Disney series that I think did it right was wizards of Waverly place with Harper. People pointed out how much... outfit was in her outfits and she acknowledged how weird it was and just owned weird as her style

Realistically, They'd be outcasted and talked about, get fake compliments followed by a group of people laughing, be avoided or mocked, and get roasted and talked down to. They'd also be the kids that go to a specific teachers classroom to eat lunch away from everyone else.

Famous metal musician once said "I'd rather be happy than cool any day of the week. :) " and I have to agree with him as a fellow metalhead. You can find the quote on his youtube video for the song Lucky Animals (Unofficial Video) , which is just him dancing to his own song in his backyard. Great video, best video, huge recommend.
true, i used to be more energetic and stuff but started to be more quiet once i lost my best friend
Ya, I'd take 10 of those quirky People for life rather than having to spend 10 minutes with the "normal" person in this video lol.
Harper Finkle is an exception to the DIY clothes being horrible in Disney Channel shows. Her outfits were ridiculous but they were iconic and she was aware of them being odd.
True, she didn't care that it was weird. She had fun and was ready to square up if anyone pushed her 😂
I loved her she knew that her outfits were were considered weird but she continued to dress the way she wanted, she's an exception I loved seeing her so happy about a new dress she designed
I’ll never forget her marker dress
I actually had a friend in high school that dressed up in crazy outfits every day. I thought they were cool and she was super sweet, one of the nicest and coolest people I've met
I Waz the one friend , then I was strange. Mixing my clothes I got from the mall with Asian tops skirts from India ,, one of the pictures that I'm in my yearbook is of me in a silk cherry blossom dress so shiny black and red with chopsticks in my hair for Chinese New year. Now I would have been cool. But then I was the girl from the east side of cleveland. That spent her summer is on Indian reservation. Urban hippie

Abbie seems like a pleasure to be around.
Same, I'm an introvert, but I love hanging out with the energetic people that others seem to roll their eyes at. I'd say it because I prefer "opposite attract" buddies for myself
@@lucidfangirl1030 omg yes! Me too.
@@lucidfangirl1030 another great point
The only Disney series that I think did it right was wizards of Waverly place with Harper. People pointed out how much... outfit was in her outfits and she acknowledged how weird it was and just owned weird as her style
The girl from ant farm, Raven had the style but Chelsea had the personality of these characters from that’s so Raven.
How about Lily's alter ego Lola Lufnagel from Hannah Montana?
@@silverroxen2954 yessss Lola loved her
But also was toned down and “normal” every so often. Plus her outfits made sense as she made them and it was just hats and outfits not crazy hair colours and stuff

I not only want to have a friend like her, I want to BE HER !
My aunt was like this. She was so extra an quirky. She wore flashy and extravagent outfits with so much color. She would wear really big fake eyelashes in all kinds of color. She was a nail tech and would experiment with unique designs all the time so for a long time all the teenage girls in my family got free nails. She was so exra when dressing for church and easter was her holiday (if you know anything about how black people dress for easter then imagine what its like when a person who goes all out for regular church dresses for easter) she was such a sweetheart and just the most positive person you'd ever meet.
your aunt sounds amazing!
Sounds so fun
my guess is that she didnt had the chance to do all that when she was young so she went overboard when shes older.. kinda mood tbh
As a black person my family has never dressed up super crazy for Easter. So I can’t imagine.

I think she was just trying to point out how unrealistic people like this are in real life...if u know someone or are someone this bold if thats ur authentic self then Im glad ur going for it.
@@scenepunk09 I'm pretty much there, and I do get self conscious about being too weird for people and it making them not like me, so this video does pick at a fairly deep-seated insecurity of mine that has a tendency to hit me pretty hard when I'm feeling low. So, not the best video, imo. If it was JUST the girl being quirky, then sure fine, we can crack some jokes, but with the added judgement from the "normal" girl, it's just left a fairly bad taste in my mouth. XP
@@thekarret2066 yeah I guess I can see that. The normal girl does seem a bit judgy. I don't think even people would react like that IRL. I'm not like either girl but I certainly do struggle with those insecurities. I KNOW everyone thinks I am weird. I am literally nothing like anyone I have ever known. I just try to own it. I think being normal would be pretty boring anyways, don't you?
If I had to choose one of them to be my friend, I choose the quirky girl.
I find these kinds of people wonderful. Life is dull enough, a splash of chaotic colors just adds a smile to my day.

90% of Disney Channel main characters and their besties would be shoved in a locker, pushed down the stairs and robbed of their lunch money

Realistically, They'd be outcasted and talked about, get fake compliments followed by a group of people laughing, be avoided or mocked, and get roasted and talked down to. They'd also be the kids that go to a specific teachers classroom to eat lunch away from everyone else.

Exactly how I felt with this skit
Yeah the quirky girl was just being friendly and talkative the other was kinda judgemental
Finally someone said it
Because that's how most people would probably feel or treat this character if they came to life and went to a real life high school. Having met someone like this irl, my first impression was their vibrant personality and unwavering positivity legit scared me. And the only way people treated them was being super nice (kinda almost like they're a little kid) or just being mean and avoiding them since they weren't part of the "norm."
I mean it’s how everyone would think about the “quirky” girl in they met one in real life
“Reality” sure feels like the Disney Channel mean girl.

I was hoping this was the Disney version where the main character being "normal" just means being mean to their best friend's face, but in the reality version they'd actually be best friends and vibe with each other. But I guess... reality just means being mean to someone's face.
