The buildup and payoff of AJ's final TNA Championship was awesome. It was a big mistake that they didn't pay him enough because he was TNA's biggest star. Everyone knows he's a great wrestler, but his character development was even better and underrated. He went through a dark transformation, but they made it seem realistic. There are other dark wrestling gimmicks like the Undertaker. But then they made the gimmick absurd by having him shoot out lightning bolts. AJ Styles didn't do any of the goofy supernatural stuff, so he was believable.

The year following with two IWGP Heavyweight Championships, 8 years ago his first WWE Championship and his second the following year. You would have to see between the big companies in existence in the modern era, AJ Styles has had one of the greatest career any wrestler has had.

The only reasons he says anything when it comes to TNA during and still in WWE is only if someone bothers him if his TNA past, but look at him he's been in WWE for as long as he was in TNA at this point. He clearly thinks TNA a stepping stone. He doesn't want to retire in TNA. So why respect him if he doesn't respect the company that gave him that stone to step.... WCW died by the time he was trying to be something. If TNA didn't exist he would had been on NXT or dark house shows and be lucky to be at Kofi Kingston level of relevance.... Especially before the Vince busted era....
