I absolutely love the look of this. What an amazing job. It looks stunning in the home. I wish we could see the customer's face when they first saw this.
Thank you so much, Sharon! I too wish I could have captured his reaction when we brought the first piece in. His tile person was still a week or two out but the customer now couldn't wait. He started tiling it that Friday afternoon and had it finished by Monday morning. He worked day and night all weekend because he was so excited. He's a super, super nice guy and so much fun to work with. Makes my job even that much more enjoyable!
Thanks again for your comments, Sharon!
Very nice!!! I'm glad the customer chose this design - it rally makes the room!!
I couldn't agree more, and thank you!

Thank you!
Thank you. Beautiful
You're so welcome and thank YOU!
Dude your veins are amazing. Also, I'm going to pull out my white board. No more copy paper layouts. Thanks. Great work!
Thanks! They're not difficult to create, and using the heat gun really brings them to life. And yes, the whiteboard has been a lifesaver!
You nailed another one excellent fabrication, design, color blends and install! 👏🏻👏🏻 I still want to someday do a collaboration on some countertops. 😊
Thanks, Alan I appreciate the kind words. And yes, we do need to get together and collaborate on some countertops. That would be too much fun!!!
@@kcdcdesigns You lately have some large unique jobs, looks like I'll have to come and visit you and get one on video.. 👍🏻😊
Let's try to coordinate one!
@@kcdcdesigns That works, I'll hit you up on phone next few days 👍🏻
Looks really nice. Just curious have you ever redone an epoxy countertop. I’m getting ready to redo mine but don’t see any videos on doing that. Also what color undercoat is your favorite?
Thanks!
As far as redoing an epoxy countertop, yes, just sand with 220 to create a mechanical bond, then apply your undercoat paint so you can start with a "clean slate", sand with 220 after it has off-gassed, then apply your color coat.
It's much easier (and safer) applying over epoxy than a solid surface such as laminate, granite, etc. As far as my undercoat color, it all depends on what the color coat will be. Light colors, white. Darker colors, black. No real favorite (except I don't care for doing the Calacatta and Carrara Marbles (not much fun, lol).
@@kcdcdesigns Thanks Keith, I did black last time. Think I’ll do white undercoat this time. Have you ever mixed spray paint in cups to do a dirty pour?

Do you use foam rollers?
I do not. For applying Stone Coat's Ultimate Top coat I use 1/4 nap rollers, the foam rollers don't work for that, IME.
How much did you charge the clients for this size of counters? Ive been interested on avg price of labor to do epoxy?! Thank you so much
Do you work with epoxy, or are you considering hiring a contractor to do yours?
Hello man, how good are epoxy countertops compared to the Formica coated ones in terms of heat resistance and durability
Formica/laminate is fairly durable, but it too can be scratched as well as burnt. The problem with high heat on laminate is that it can loosen the adhesive and cause it to seperate.
For heat resistance with epoxy, it depends on the brand and quality of the resin. I use Stone Coat epoxy which is heat resistant to 475°.
Most people want to get away from formica/laminate since it's becoming outdated and a lower budget type of countertop covering.
As long as the epoxy is applied correctly, it is probably more scratch resistant than most laminates (formica is the same thing).
Why do you use the dry roller
It's part of the process of applying Stone Coat's Ultimate Top Coat. The dry roller is used (with no pressure), to lightly roll over the surface, pick up any excess product and removing any lap lines and/or roller marks. It's a final smooth-over.
