Flying the Scout out of a 230m strip + short field talk-through

I took the Scout into this strip on my way home from a flight review, so I fired up the camera to talk through a short field takeoff and then a short field landing.
The American Champion 8GCBC Scout is of the same family line as the Citabria and Decathlon, but with flaps and a more cambered wing than the Decathlon.
The Scout rivals the Piper Super Cub for its STOL (short takeoff and landing) capabilities, and like the PA18 it is renowned for it’s off airport operations.
We use the Scout for tailwheel training, as well as bush flying / STOL type flying training.

I got my Tailwheel endorsement in a Scout and loved every moment when my Instructor said that I’m getting out so now it’s your time to solo and what that meant my shaking legs and feet so I settled down before I got myself together and started on my first ever flight and add power to get the Tailwheel up and airborne 😊
