Yeah, I feel like Reiko's ending is the second half of Shao's.

I love how there's so many endings connected. Rain's and Havik's, Shao's, Kitana's and Reiko's, Liu Kang's and Gera's.

Reiko has the biggest balls of MK. In a world of magic users, he only uses a spear and shurikens.
He has magic. Summoning Weapons and Some kind of Magic or Energy Shockwave but Still He has biggest Balls in MK Universe.
(Every MK characters are like bunch of Supers from Boys I mean Ripping spines, Breaking Titanium and Protecting Realms is Beyond Human)
He has magical red energy that extends the radius of his attacks. But, you are not wrong about the size of his balls.

Not me after seeing this ending. They couldn't bother to make Reiko a little less one dimensional in his own ladder ending...? He's still the Shao fanboy that he was in the Midway and reboot timelines making him a total waste of a revamped version.

Considering that all the endings of the fighters are now canonical, then with a high degree of probability Reiko will not appear in the next part of MK, since from his endings it can be understood that he will not survive the battle with Onaga, he himself says that he is going to certain death. It's so disappointing, I really wanted to see this character development after 17 years of absence from the roster. He's my favorite fighter. Reiko has great potential to become one of the most important and key characters in the MK series.Reiko is incredibly ruthless, merciless, brutal, cruel, savage, bloodthirsty warrior. He is а "beast" in human skin. Even monster characters like Baraka, Reptile, Goro, Kintaro, Sheeva, Motaro, D'vorah, Nitara, Kollector, Moloch, Drahmin are more human than Reiko. Reiko is so underrated.

In a comment to Shang Tsung before a fight, General Shao says that they are currently trying to tame Onaga. Maybe Reiko survived.

Reiko says in a leaked intro with Homelander that he thinks he'll have no issues whooping Homelander's ass because he tamed Onaga. I think it's Canon that Reiko succeeded fully

Nah with how op Liu Kang has become plus all the infinite Shujinkos ready to tag together to fight him Onaga is pretty much overwhelmed before even breaking from his prison.

@@Philthorn There are no "power scales" in MK it's all _plot armor_ depending on the story and the character you're playing at the moment. If a mortal character like Shujinko can kick Onaga's butt it's definetly because the story allowed him so rather than because he just "happened to be stronger".

It is amazing how loyal Reiko is to Shao, in all his dialogues he praised Shao. He has no hint of betrayal or wanting to overthrow him, he lives and dies by Shaos command.
Finally a match for Kung Lao's ego: Reiko's balls
Welp if reiko doenst pop up in mk 2 it means he definitevely died fighting onaga
But if he does, Shao might give him a big promotion since taming Onaga is probably the only thing Shao and his kind knows how to do it.
Great General Shao, a hero who defeat the tyrant dragon king Onaga. Freed Outworld from its terror. But, his descendant action shame his heroism.

This and Kung Lao’s ending showing Shujinko becoming the warrior he is are surely teases for the next game being like MK Deception where Shujinko has to fight and defeat Onaga

Mk1 already covered all 3 3d era games into one. MK13 will be something new

To me he is the boss, I was at my babysitter house and her kids and I were playing Mk4 on the 64 one day we challenged ourselves and played the ladder mode on a higher difficulty than we're accustomed to, Reiko was gatekeeping the last fight, he beat us for hours....since then I always looked forward to his appearances, finally some respect on the man

We don't want to be over 100 years old still fighting Shao, Shang Tsung, Shinnok, and/or Quan Chi for the millionth time in a row, these guys have had their time, give us Onaga, Havik (And I mean Cleric of Chaos Havik, not Dairou with Havik's powers like we got in this game), Blaze, hell, even Moloch and Drahmin would be a nice change of pace
I lowkey want them to do what they did to Kabal towards Reiko make an Evil character join the forces of good. Although it’s very and highly unlikely it’d be cool to see
So glad to have Reiko back and done well. He’s been my main since early release and I can shut just about any fighter down with him. Hence “just about” lol there’s a few that are hard to beat though

My theory is that Onaga became a mindless beast due to going insane from the millennia of imprisonment and isolation. He was once like the OG Onaga but has since fallen off.

I like it how each ending is not so random but linked since few were the same but different p.o.v. So each ending is like a heads up on what's going on between mk1 and the upcoming mk2.... question is will onaga be the main villain this time? Who knows.
Pretty clear it's going to be "Titan Havik" so i doubt an insane, monstrous incarnation of Onaga is somehow sitting in the big bad chair alongside Havik and his cronies.

Regardless even if Havik doesn't become the main villain in MK13 i don't see why this new Onaga could ever make it to the big bad chair considering his animalistic nature and clear lack of depth to justify making him the main villain.

In a dialogue between Liu Kang and Geras, it is mentioned that the most dangerous threat to liu kang's timeline is the one ruled by titan Onaga, so maybe things are set to be Onaga the main boss in MK13

Y’know I was weirded out by Reiko’s inclusion because he was and still is a nothing character but then it hit me
With Baraka, Reptile and Ermac becoming elevated the story requires jobbers to take their place and what better choice is there than characters like Reiko? Seriously there are so many nothing characters that can fulfill that role that it’s almost comical

If he was indeed a vessel for the One Being it would be impossible to bind and chain him for eternity given the One Being's omnipotence. My only guess is that this Onaga belongs to a more animalistic version of his dragon race hence why he barely behaves like a thinking being.

Funny how the more things change the more they stay the same. In the original timeline Onaga was the ruler of Outworld and Shao Kahn killed him and took the throne. Now in this timeline he plans on using him to dethrone mileena.

Kinda unfortunate that we still don't know Shao and his family's exact race since they seem to be a superior dragon breeds than the Shokans. The only thing we got are his siblings's names which idk if they are all just his brothers or brother and sister.

Reiko is such a jobber that even his ending is like "Yeah, don't expect him to be in the sequel."
To be fair though, a game like Mortal Kombat NEEDS jobbers. There has to be a character that the heroes consistently defeat that the audience won't feel bad for. If every fight was a heartwrenching moment between two equally plot-critical characters, you would be mentally exhausted. So thank you Reiko, for performing a vital service for the fighting game community.
