Why does Jon have an obsession with putting 'outside' floor surfaces indoors?
"You know what I need on this bathroom floor? GRAVEL! For that real seaside feeling."
Nothing I like more than stepping out of the shower onto sharp gravely rocks.
I was thinking "Oh, Jon has finally been sensible. This room is quite nice." Then he made the floor red brick.
And then he expresses surprise at our opinion of his decisions when it comes to interior design.
I'm a simple person, I see Jon playing a game about decorating or home renovation, and I click excited to see the chaos
EXACTLY my reaction 😂 I was like a kid in a sweet shop my eye lit up! Thank you Jon 🙌🏻
@@alexwalters35 Not everything is said because meme. Sometimes it's legitimately what someone wants to express.
@@alexwalters35 genuinely, are you okay? That’s a lot of feelings to have about something so lighthearted
Yes! Jon decorating rooms is always... Interesting but it's also always a good time.
I do feel like I'm screaming at my screen with his decorating skills. But on the other hand, I now want to buy the game just to arrange it better 😅
Note to self: Do not hire Jon to decorate my apartment.
Or hotel
@@OddlySpecificGamingor House
@@KelgorothTheFinalShape I don't think I'd even let Jon design my garden....
You'd need to pay Jon to not decorate your house 😂
One day Jon will discover unity game engine and he will spend 40 hours straight just placing objects in places
I want this to be a stream once he finds out
this video has taught me that jon has never lived anywhere with a small floor plan 😅
It was the child's room that made my girlfriend leave in a huff over how Jon was decorating.
Why? It looks like a place a child would enjoy playing in.
The feng-shui in that childrens bedroom is horrific! But I really appreciate the fact that Jon thought of the book as The Hobbit, because I did too.
Bookshelf in middle of screen after Jon placed it barely a minute earlier: Jon: "The problem is there's no other table so I've got nowhere to store the books, I'm not sure if I've got a shelf or anything."
Why did the desk start floating in the cut from 6:55 to 6:56?
Jon, I love how you forewarn any potential new viewers how things are going to go right in the description.
I feel like interior decorator games like this should have 2 modes. One where you don't have any sort of limits and as long as everything is complete according to the "mission" you get the score, and one where your solutions are shared with a random collection of other players who grade your result and you get a score based on that result. Obviously the second one would be much slower and probably cause people problems as they have to wait for someone to score their submission, but it would also give people actual feedback and you could see other results and maybe pick up ideas. That way Jon could 'educate' more people on the usefulness of open plan bathrooms while also finding more interesting combinations of colors to mash together.
I believe i saw a sandbox mode on the 1st menu
There’s a phone game called Redecor where your designs are scored by other players. It’s pretty addictive but it’s tempted to spend real $$ to unlock stuff.
Jon’s fascination with landscaping materials as flooring borders on pathological. 😂
Potential sequel game "Feng Shui" Master would definitely have a scoring system
After watching a bunch of Dear Modern videos, all I can think is “that’s not feng shui, what would Cliff do?”
Right?
Some of jon's decisions are just straight up baffling.
I thought you weren't supposed to face the foot of a bed towards a door because it invites evil spirits to possess you in your sleep.
But, this is how Jon decorates.
I've not even started this video and I already know it's going to be one of my favourite games ever.
Noone believes Jon wouldn't rock an astronaut comforter as an adult.
9:00 And with that Jon invents the Graydient ;-)
Cool game. Appreciate bringing it to our attention jon!
Jon did a good job on these. Nothing really too outlandish or garish. I liked these rooms! This looks like a fun and relaxing game and I'll also be keeping my eye on it.
other than the brick flooring in the first room... that would hurt.
Day 1 of asking Jon to play with Brio wooden trains.(Not on the channel, just treat yourself!) So what if I am an adult I still want to play with them dammit!
Lovely!
I love your decorating games jon
For the first room I would have scooted the desk over to the right of the window, put the shelves where the drawers are and put the armchair next to it to create a reading corner. Then I would've put the drawers where the armchair was and the mirror next to that to create a dressing area. Separate the two purposes of the room into separate parts of the room, one half for sleeping and morning routines and one half for work and hobbies.
Does the model train represent what the area looked like before it was developed? The hills in the corner look similar.
Jon, that feng shui guy is gonna see this and judge you.
My first thought 😂😂
You talking about Cliff over at Dear Modern?
I can just imagine his disapproving gaze.
@@Taolan8472 oh yeah, when Jon had the foot of the bed pointing DIRECTLY at the door I could hear Cliff talking about the energy at your feet making you toss and turn.
I biggest laugh I've had this year so far was hearing Jon lament at the lack of shelf for his books.
I am prepared for more horrors of Jon’s interior design ❤
Day 0044/1230 of requesting Jon read Macbeth to us with accompanying funny voices for the characters. Every time Jon plays a decorating or design game I come away thinking he's a little more unhinged than I already had.
An unpacking like game…pretty cool
Jon is convincing Claire to get a digger bed now, isn't he? Unless they already have one.
Asymmetry is actually a pretty integral part of good design in most instances, otherwise the room (or whatever) can look very static and boring. It takes a really talented artist to make good use of symmetry in design.
Jon please tell me Claire is in charge of decorating your home
Used to be, you could order guns in the Sears catalog. Long guns, but they were guns and I don't recall if they asked for ID.
I suck at staging from a clean slate so much. I can always make modifications that most people who see it consider an improvement, but from scratch? Nope... but ironically, I love interior design in games. I love House Flipper 2 and I love the concept of this game.
I like what Jon did with the room someday they will allow Jon to use bright colors.
Not too shabby this time, Jon
Nevermind I just saw the brick
If i can't decorate the rooms like the Quantrill's house from The President's Analyst then i don't want to hear about it. TOTAL SOUND
Day 43 of requesting _Age of Mythology _
My book recommendation for today is _How To Do Everything From The Man Who Should Know_ by “Red Green”. In any game where Jon puts things together or decorates, a book like this would almost be an improvement
Great game, great video. Apart from the floor of that poor child's bedroom, what were you thinking? 🤣
OPEN PLAN EVERYTHING!
Me and Jon have completely different ideas where a bed would be compared to a window.
Star Control date 0038!
I humbly request Jon play Star Control 2.
I type this fast hoping I'm first.
But now I won't be...
Anyways. It's his favorite game, he just doesn't know it yet.
tyvm and gb
It's called Free Stars; the Ur-quan Masters on Steam these days. And it's free. Things you may want to mention next time just to make it easier for Jon to pick up.
Jon: We gonna start with the biggest things
Me: You mean painting the walls, right?
Jon: [smiles Anakin style]
Me: oh gods, I'm Padme in this comparison, right?
The feng shui isn't feng shuing enough
I don't trust anyone who wants their walls painted grey.
grey walls and Jon's brick floor for the definitive prison experience.
No no no dark grey round the bed because it’s more restful, light grey by the desk to reflect more light
Feels a bit like unpacking
i just put my finger on what was bugging me... This game knows not of perspective. "This carpet has sides that are this long. Yes, one side is farther away, that does not mean it should be shorter."
That, combined with an overly ambitious lighting engine that is either too bright or still trying to update where the shadow should be... Nice game, but my head hurts.
be careful you will summon the feng shui man
Everyone is preparing for the worst, but honestly there wasn't anything that bad ... other than the walls.
You can't keep getting away with this
Dose anyone know if you can add walls/ multiple floors in sandbox mode?
I know this is random but is Jon going to do a BG3 playthrough at any point in the future I know he’s still doing a lot at the moment
Jon, I have a question - what is you opinion on so many games these days being early access and the number of them that just stay there? It seems to have become the norm now for games to be released in early access rather then waiting for the game to be in a more "complete" state for a full release. I can see both sides of the coin but I wondered what your opinion was
Unpacking meets House flipper
is there abillity to import photos ?
The picture frames don't have a back. Possibly they are tapestry or needlepoint.
Thumbs up for 2 cats.
How did the kid not have "The Giant Book of Puns"?
7:12 that's what she said
Oh god john is playing another furnishing game. Going to leave this comment before watching as a prediction that this is going to go horribly wrong.
Freak out 1: "There's no other tables, nowhere to store the books not sure I got a shelf or anything" LITTERALLY A SHELF IN THE ROOM YOU JUST PLACED A MOMENT AGO JOHN!
Ok don't hate the first apartment. Not how I would of designed it but I don't hate it.
Child's room build opinion: John I hate your ideas of interior design my eyes bleed. Overall exactly what I expected from this video. Fun video john.
Jon designing kids´ bedrooms Is An Absolute Nightmare.
in the first room... is it me or is the desk floating? At least until the last moment.... then its suddenly on the floor...
Damn youtube didn't sent me the notification
The kid's room is rough.
So I'm seeing Unpacking but sandbox. Eh, not the worse spin off.
That room would be way too small for me. I need my space to move around and it’s all hemmed in. Also if Jon ever redecorated my room I’d gouge my eyes out from the result
@DresdenShuffle not everyone gets to choose to have a large room, bud
generic, but pretty decent the (first) room... ended-up looking pretty alright...
why does jon hate feet? this is the second time he's done something that would tear your feet up quite badly. inquiring minds wnat to know job. what do you have against people's feet?
Entry 52: of asking Jon to play command and conquer
Claire needs to forbid Jon from playing interior decorationy games. For my mental health's sake.
How are you earning money as time passes?
It's cute, but it feels like it's lacking some of the charm of things like Unpacking.
And all the books laying flat on the shelves is unconscionable! Why would the developers do this.
Oh, ghod... This will be right in teh missus' wheelhouse. ='[.]'=
Day 46/1230 of requesting Jon play a game nobody will remember, like Majesty: A Fantasy Kingdom Sim
Terrible feng shui, Jon.
The only reason why I didn't unsubscribe this garbage from ever coming up on my page is because Jon provides really good content otherwise.
