hey Tim, Save yourself the effort of doing a termination knot.
Slide the crimp on to the wire, wrap it around the strainer post then feed the wire back thru the crimp.

Thanks John. I don’t really like doing that as the wire on the post side tends to pull the alloy crimp apart.

I use the Hayes crimp system.

Like the crimps, but man the tool is hard to use when you get closer to the ground and it seems the crimp neatness suffers. Any tips?

Use a fence fixer to hold the wires. You’ll get it tighter and you can twist it without any issues

Hayes HC2 which are ideal for 2.5mm wire.
