    I like the installation and that hydraulique pump does a nice job without to much effort and the nice thing is it looks like it should hold for a long time.....CHEERS

      Hi Gator
      It's a great tool and has a lot of uses with some imagination on things to build with it.

    I never thought of using my flaring tool for this. But the actual crimper is some nice. Crazy strength in those crimps.

    1/16 ? I thought you were Canadian. I thought you did All a Meters. Oh I hate hanging lights with them dooma flotchites. Yeah the company I work for seriously needs to upgrade the tools we have to use to hang lights. Oh my well I guess if you just keep pounding on her she is gonna break at some point. Awesome as always Steve.

      We're only metric on liquid measure , vehicle speed and temperature . We're the same as American on everything else. You could never notice the difference between any city in America to any city in Canada.

    When this popped up on my feed I had just had to watch it.
    I use the plastic coated braided wire (1/16") for the bird feeders that I sell. I just use an old pair of lineman's pliers to crimp the sleeves. Get a little more leverage with the longer handles.
    Bummer about your vise. Put it on your Christmas list.

      Hi Roland
      I did one with a 1/8 cable for a dog run 100 feet long , just perfect for the person as their dog would jump the fences in the yard and now it can use all the yard but it's tethered to the line that keeps it away from the fences.

    Thanks for showing how to crimp that cable. That was some surprise with your vise breaking, I’m like umm I don’t think that’s supposed to happen. I didn’t have those crimping tools I just put in vise and squeezed the Ferrell in the direction you showed so thanks. I use mine for a dog line. I used the cable that’s wrapped with that rubber or plastic
    coating. I had to go with a thicker cable because it just snapped at the ferrel when she pulled chasing rabbits in the yard. Hopefully the thicker cable will work. Any suggestions?

    • @SteveRobReviews
      @SteveRobReviews  Před 13 dny

      @johnd1536 HAHAHA John that vise breaking was a suprise for sure. I did a couple of dog runs and only used 3/16 cable with a plastic coating that kept it clean and easy to manage but it was for a 120 pound Rottweiler.

  • @GrampiesWorkshop
    @GrampiesWorkshop Před 8 měsíci +1

    How's she goin'? That's a neat idea to use the flaring tool to crimp the ferrules. Too bad about the vice, but better it break on something like that rather than a big piece that could fall and hurt you. It was interesting to hear you say the squirrels can't walk a 1/16 wire. LOL I like that part!! Take care!!

    Good video, but I wonder how many birds don't see that wire and run into it because they can't see it.

    • @SteveRobReviews
      @SteveRobReviews  Před 28 dny

      @robburton3255 That's a valid concern , very sharp 👌. I did research the concern prior and my concerns were relieved as the birds do not run into the wire at all but they do perch on it . Cheers

  • @kendominey8755

    Why do they use cheap pig iron on vises? Mine did the same.

    • @SteveRobReviews
      @SteveRobReviews  Před 8 měsíci +1

    Nice demo Steve 👍 But I can’t lie! In my industry if the boss catches you messing around with crimping tools you’re in shit! Lay the doohickey on a big wrench and smash it with the paclower and move on😂
    Take care Steve✌️
