Hey @Sal’s Garage, were you able to install a back-up camera with this unit? I am having an issue getting the unit to switch the video input to the backup camera. I feel like there is a setting I am missing the let the “screen” know I’m in reverse and to switch the input displayed. Any pointers will help me out a ton!!! 🙏🏾
If you’re manual you’ll need to tap reverse bulb wire, for DCT it’s a little easier.
Do you have to select AUX every time you restart your car in order to get sound?
No, it remembers your last setting every time.

Hey bro, wouldn’t it had been better to replace the entire dash to a regular flat dash then put the new dash screen on it. It’ll look more modern & you won’t have that bump on the screen looking from the front being outside? And question number #2: Since you had the upgrade BM with the Idrive stick did you even had to replaced it or did it work with the screen you bought? Because if not mistaken I think it comes with and Idrive stick to control the screen doesn’t it?
Too much work and cost to change to single hump dash. We like it how it is currently. For #2 the stock iDrive controller works plug and play with the screen.

Yea, it’s aux for sound. There are other options but I haven’t tried.

Yes, you need to change the whole dash to single hump.
Are you able to turn off the screen when you don’t need it? Like if you’re not using nav, can you have the screen turn completely off or is it always on? How’s the backlight at night compared to the original idrive screen?
Brightness is adjustable, at night it’s not distracting at all. There is also a button on the screen to turn it off. To wake it up, just tap the screen.
What's about logic7 amp? Is the audio from this unit connected trough bmw aux?
It connects through aux or fiber optic cable if your car has it.

With this screen do you have problems when you press the M button causing everything to shot down? And goes back to the old system?
I do not have that issue. It’s completely fine when you press M button.
Mine won’t shut off on when car is off only when I hit button for screen go off other than it it never turns off idk
Hope you can figure out your issue soon. Try contacting the seller for troubleshooting. I have not heard of this issue before.
How does this headunit connect to the cars speakers? Does it use an aux like the MMI Prime or equivalent?
It connects audio via aux port.

you got a guide for coding in FTM? I forgot to have Alpine enable it in my idrive but it's coded to use FTM
I can make one when I get the chance. I use Bimmergeeks protools.
What is the sound quality like? I have an Audison speaker set up and just wanna make sure it's a decent sound source before buying.
Sound quality is pretty good, it goes through aux port so better than Bluetooth audio.

Yes it works with Harmon Kardon, not sure about the screen resolution. I haven’t tried changing it since it looks fine to me, it the screen is large so the DPI will be lower.

I ordered mines as soon as I saw this video and just finished installing it. Everything seems to work, but I’m getting no sound when using CarPlay. Did you have to run the audio cable to the Aux port located in the armrest?
Yea I plugged in the aux port to the armrest and changed the sound to aux in iDrive.

None right now sorry. I can assure you it is level and not pointing down. If you want to raise it just add foam.

No latency in sound, you can install any android app to watch shows and movies. You still need the original radio for this to work.
@@Sals_Garage thanks dude. Have you tried any of those apps because i have history with cheap android screens and my experience is that its 50/50 if they work or not. You can install them for sure but it doesnt guarantee they work.

Mate ive been begging Aliexpress sellers for an answer for this but will it fit a RHD car? My E92 is the non idrive version so it's slightly different but I'm still inclined to think it'll fit
It does not matter which side. If you have no I drive you need to get the non iDrive screen.

I installed one of these in my 2010 328i and my auxiliary input in my car stopped working. The car shows it as activated but I don’t get any sound. And I can’t turn up the volume on the auxiliary input in the settings from the original bmw menu. Anyone have any ideas?
