    Great review. I’ve had my eye on this hammock for awhile. It’s getting good reviews. Thanks for reviewing it.

    A lay flat hammock how frigging cool!
    The gear hamock below the main hammock would be great for a insulation layer or reflective survival blank/ space blanket !
    Also you could use some velcro to attach it to the
    (bottom of your hammock) and the bottom of your (sleep pad) so that it wouldn't move once in place!

      For sure! Appreciate the tips. Make sure you check out the vids with the Haven Lay Flat Hammock I've done its an even better layflat design.

      I'll disagree with you on using a regular mylar space blanket in the gear area under your mat/sleep pad. The rain fly itself will trap heat just as well as a mylar blanket(and may produce just as much condensation).

    Thankyou for taking the time to test out this hammock in a real life situation. As a side sleeper I've felt that a hammock would be difficult to roll from side to side and stay comfortable, I think this hammock could help and with the bonus of using your own sleeping pad without having to buy underblankets etc.

    • @procaliberhq
      @procaliberhq  Před 10 měsíci +3

      You can definitely comfortably sleep on your side with this hammock. The hammock does shift in a way that makes you feel like you'll flip at first but its very stable. and the wider the tree you're able to wrap around the more stable itll be.

      It seems solid. I'm genuinely surprised at how much heat it holds in. When ever I got up in the middle of the night to take a leak there was easily a 3-5 degree difference in temp.

  • @kennethwilson8633

    Wow nice setup. At some point a cot bug net and tarp or tent with a cot are jut the same weight and as easy to set up. Have fun stay safe.

    • @procaliberhq
      @procaliberhq  Před 10 měsíci

      Yeah i'm pretty sure that tomshoo cot and usmc bed net is slightly lighter than this. But I would have to use a tarp with this hammock in the summer. You can stake out the rainfly flap for more airflow but it still holds in a bit of heat

      I use mine in the woods and leave it there all summer long. Parked under a big cedar tree never had a hint of wetness in it and by GOD did we get thunderstorms all damn summer long last year. tested and proven.

    @the_E4_Mafia Před 4 měsíci +3

    The problem with that hammock is you can’t get out of it without getting wet when it’s raining outside, that’s why you have to have an extra tarp

    • @procaliberhq

    If anybody wants to get rid of the logo those little battery powered airbrush kits are cheap, fun to use at a site if you're alone and like painting. Most important though you can use it to Camo up that bloody white patch lol. Just thin out some acrylic paint with water and paint it in the morning of a hot day, let the sun bake it in for a full day or two and it should be waterproof.
    Can make some dope ass shirts if you get white cotton too. Iron those after they dry, no steam and baking paper between the shirt and iron, shiny side to the shirt.

      @@procaliberhq all good man, thanks for the review. I've had mine for like six month's but been working too much to actually use it. Got a week off so thinking I might load up my ebike and go fishing for a couple days but it's been raining a bit so this was reassuring :)

    • @procaliberhq
      @procaliberhq  Před 8 měsíci

      @@justincase3230 Definitely try to get out there! One thing I didn't mention in the video is for the lower support straps, it helps if you place them lower on the tree trunks than I did in the video it makes it more stable. Also I've left this thing setup in the mountains since this video to test its durability. I've checked on it multiple times and even after heavy rain, 45mph winds and ice its still in the same condition just have to tighten the straps as they stretch.

      @procaliberhq  Před 10 měsíci

      Thank ya. I enjoy regular camping very much. This was just something I had never tried before but it works well once you get it adjusted. But it is heavy in the hammock world

    • @TheVerbiousOne
      @TheVerbiousOne Před 10 měsíci +1

      I just looked up the specs...7.7 pounds. That is pretty heavy! I have a Russian military tent hammock that comes in around 8 pounds that is similar in design. It's not very waterproof and definitely needs a tarp if wet weather is expected. It can also be setup on the ground.

  • @jansveen
    @jansveen Před 4 měsíci +1

    I have version 1 bought 3 years ago...just found out that they since made version 2 which has an inner pocket to slide-in your matress (big problem with version 1,they kept sliding from underneath you) and then this flat version 3 w/o the matress pocket. I expect a version 4 flat with matress pocket. Start to sound like iphones

    • @procaliberhq
      @procaliberhq  Před 3 měsíci

      Haha I hadn't looked into the different versions. An adjustable over strap would work best and be universal

  • @TheFishAndTrips
    @TheFishAndTrips Před 6 měsíci +1

    You see, I did my setup for the first time on my channel for the first time it it gave me hell. I don't understand why it was so hard for me to put the mosquito net poles in, because they kept falling down inward after inserting. The only thing I could figure out is that I didn't have enough tension on my tree straps to keep them up.

    • @procaliberhq
      @procaliberhq  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah the tension definitely sounds like the issue. The thing I got wrong the first time setting up was putting the bottom tree straps even with the hammock instead of angling them downward.
