Lake Simcoe Ice Report ( January 19 2024 )

On today’s short adventure we head out on Lake Simcoe with Taj from Casey’s Fish Huts to check just how thick the ice is heading into the weekend. We drilled numerous holes across the southern basin out of Port Bolster and the average thickness we came across is 4 - 6 inches. If you plan on heading out for some winter slabs always make sure to practice safety by checking with the locals and other fisherman. As always goodluck and stay safe out there 💪🏻💪🏻.

Great video pal! Taj is a good guy he came to check on us one day on early ice and we weren't even fishing out of his rentals! Nothing but dinks that day though. SUBBED!

Great stuff, heading up there tomorrow morning with my dad. Any idea on how deep most perch are being caught? Looks like around the 15-20ft depth area of the bay if I'm not mistaken?
