  • Today i am going to restore a worst and Rusty Angle Grinder. It was just impossible for Machine mechanics to restore it so i decided to do it. This is the perfect and one of the hardest restoration i've ever done. The most Complicated and Difficult part was when i was opening screws. The Armature was also Hard to clean up because of some sensitively attached wires.
So guyz sit relax and just enjoy the video.

It's in our instincts to restore, rebuild, repair, make use of our hands and tools, and labor. Consumerism is unnatural and unhealthy. It's also why more and more products are designed to be disposed and only serviced by professionals, driving more consumption.

there was no need to drill the fan. That pressed sheet holder just keeps the bearing in place. As soon as you undo the pinion nut you can push the shaft out of the bearing as teh pinion will stay behind. Its the nut that holds the pinion by means of friction

@@Chris-yy7qc Although it may be true in this case. Today we are getting into more and more lean manufacturing which means fewer fasteners. Many consumer products rely on snap fit plastic enclosures and sometimes it is impossible to remove them without destroying something. For example my Sony TV remote has only one screw that holds both the top and bottom of the enclosure together. They are many snaps that hold the remote together. I had to open the remote to fix a badly leaked battery. Despite my best care to dismantle the top part with a guitar pick I ended up breaking a few snaps.

Great job! But never insert a bearing by hitting it directly with a hammer 16:32. Either press it in ensuring even pressure on all parts or cover the bearings surface and then tap it in with a hammer. They are very easy to damage. If you don't have a press, try a G clamp or something similar but always cover the bearing

After the scene showing the parts disassembled... I would have tossed it and made a trip to the hardware store for a new one. :)

I'd need to film this just to know where all the parts go. This thing is complicated.

Beyond impressed. Thought this might be a joke video during the tear down. Like you might just go out and buy a new one at the end. Good job.

i don't really understand why you were spraying penetrating oil
onto screws that go into plastic?

Paul, I think there was metal anchor points behind the plastic.

A little bit of penetrating lubrication certainly won't hurt. The iron converted into expanded abrasive iron oxide that friction locks the screws in place. If they were self tapping, they go into plastic, if they're machine screws, they go into brass inserts melted into the plastic.

That fan will explode, and be a balancing nightmare, a file is way too aggressive to clean those laminations, molybdenum disulfide grease should have been used, some of those wires and spades would have been easier if replaced and last longer/work better too. Youre better than that.
