Surprised at how high a lot of the base game animals are given that the DLC (especially newer DLC) animals are much higher quality. I guess the "ABC" species (lions, tigers, elephants, bears, etc.) are just more popular even if their models aren't ideal.
Capybara winning it all is totally unsurprising of course
I know when I voted, I chose animals not on their in-game quality, but on animals that I particularly love in real life.
But that might just be me😅

Yeah! I just love Hippos so much! Even if they are base game, I still love to see em around!
Finally some justice for the Racoon and the fox! I remember seeing someone call the twilight pack the „roadkill pack“ when it came out and I’m still hurt, it’s one of my favourite rosters from any pack 😢
Some things of note:
1) Birds didn’t do very well. Given all the shout about them in the community - greater flamingo, Indian peafowl, Mute Swan, Emu, Crane, kiwi and Ostrich are all outside the top 50. Penguins are the only ones who avoided being so low..
2) Given the slack the arid pack gets, four of the 7 habitat species made this list - Wild Ass, Porcupine, Black Rhino and Sand Cat. Interestingly, the porcupine lost out to the sand cat and black rhino despite all the ‘clone’ shouts from the community.
3) Jaguar being so high is interesting given it is one of the poorer quality cats in the game, one of the older DLC species and arguably less memorable than the leopards, tigers and lions..
4) Giant Otter being so high is also interesting given how little it is mentioned in the community’
5) Unsurprisingly canines feature heavily in the top end of the list.
6) Not at all surprised the duo from the wetlands pack round out this list as arguably two of the most common zoo species missing from the game at the point of their addition.
7) Some interesting omissions - one-horned rhino, chimpanzee, either camel, sloth bear, warthog, ostrich.
8) Chinese pangolin being so high was odd given how forgotten it is.
9) Axolotl is very random but not too surprising!
10) Only Conservation pack has every species included in the top 100 if we included exhibits. Twilight and Tropical have their exhibits featured too but lack a habitat species in the top 100 (Skunk and Monitor).
11) No Butterflies is surprising.
12) No Tasmanian Devil? Lmao
13) In fact, three of the most recent frontrunners have done poorly on this list - porcupine outside the top 50, wolverine 99th and Devil misses the list entirely. Doesn’t bode well for mr coati!

There are 37 Artiodactyl species in the game, but only 15 of them made in this list. The Frontier is bovid-lover and offered 20 bovid species, the family that has the greatest numer of species in the game. Ironically only 4 of 20 bovids are being in the top 100 popularity list, the Frontier should work more on investigating market demand😄

No surprise here with the Platypus, ASCO and Capybara in the top 10. I've heard that the Wetlands Animal pack is one of the best sellers. They also have been promoting the crap out of it over the past 2 years on social media and the game home screen. Capybara is well deserved, it's a great Animal.
I honestly had no idea the African penguin would be that high.
Would’ve expected the king penguin honestly.
African penguins are zoo staples (alongside the similar Humboldt), King Penguins really aren’t.
What a very surprising result! Not necessarily my top 100, but that's just me. You know what would be super cool?: If you started an "everything animal" type zoo and used these results as the animals in your zoo.... maybe do it like a countdown in franchise, where the not as favored animals get less cool scenery and in depth habitats, and as the zoo builds out, you fill in the favored animals with more detailed cool stuff?

My top five would be White Rhino, Red Deer/Fallow Deer, Sun Bear, Clouded Leopard and Wild Boar.

The Eurasia pack doesn’t seem to have fared well at all tbh. I think maybe poll was so close to release that people didn’t grow on them yet.
Wisent, Takin, Boar, Saiga and Sloth Bear are missing (very surprised by the sloth bear). Wolverine is only 99th, Swan doesn’t even make top 50…
Redo the list once the game is finished and I suspect swan will be much higher in the legacy of the game.
That is by far the largest number of omissions of any of the packs. Next highest is Arid with 3 habitat species.

So I bought the Deluxe Edition for console (includes deluxe, southeast and wetlands pack), and I was wondering what other 3 packs to purchase so I thought of asking you! Just tell me what 3 packs you enjoy the most and are essential for building as good as you. Also the a pack has to have good building and animals (in your opinion)
Ive made several videos about my personal favorite packs ❤️ But honestly you should really do what you think you will enjoy the most because everyone has such a different preference and opinion, so I really feel like everyone should decide for themselves ❤️

I am quite surprised that Giant Panda and Koala are not being top15, especially Giant Panda which often attract crowds of visitors in real life zoos. probably bc the vote is mainly Westerner-based? Then San Diego should reconsider whether it is necessary to pay the sky-high rent to bring in Giant Panda again since it is questionable whether Western people really like Giant Panda. Another interesting fact is that some species in this list were least demanded in Frontier forum, like Asiatic Buffalo, Dwarf Caiman and Giant Otter which were ranked very bottom in META wishlist. Vice versa, some top-demanded species in Frontier Forum are low-ranked in this list, like Wolverine and Kiwi, or even do not make in at all like Tasmanian Devil and Takin.

Red fox’s are that one animal I put in almost every one of my zoos because of the variety of biomes they can live you can almost always get a enclosure that matches the theme of the zoo with them they are also my favourite animal and it makes me happy to see them get such a high spot on the list
As a huge Asian Water Monitor fan, I'm kind of disappointed that all of the Tropical Pack animals made it into the top 100 except for the Monitor... Well, at least I agree with most of the top picks. Asian Otter and African Penguin are totally deserved

I was surprised to see people's actually prefering the bloc looking animals from the base game over the newest animals.
But a least Capybara own which is in my top 3, but still It's a crime what happened with the list
For me it's more about the animal itself than how it looks in Planet Zoo. That's how I rated my animals anyways.

The Mandrill deserves better…
My biggest pani with this game is that people farm CC terribly in franchise mode and that’s why many species are not available in the market. For example I dream about orientał otters and seals, and i check at different times of day and night and still there are nonę, and it’s not that there are no ones with good genes, but there are none🥲
Just make sure to refresh the market until frontier zoo puts some in the market 😊 my best advise, haha!
