This convenient Mini Iron Caddy and Pressing Pad is a fun and easy project to make.
It’s a handy storage case/carrier and pressing mat in one!
An easy DIY gift for sewists!
Use it when travelling or take it with you to your sewing class or retreat
Best made with scorch/heat resistant fabric for the inner pressing side, cotton for the outer side and straps and 2 layers of batting in between. (fusible batting or Insul-Bright can also be used for padding)
The handle easily separates with a side release buckle

What a smart idea! I’m thinking about making adjustments for a casserole carrier. I read through the comments and saw that someone else had the same idea! Thank you for sharing your designs and encouraging our creativity 🥰
The funny thing is that I originally designed this for a casserole dish but my plans changed at end of year...... I don't like those carriers that are giant squares of fabric. I want to design one that will pull apart from handles so it is plain mat.
This is a great project with many uses. My daughter could use one for her curling iron and other tools when she travels. Thanks for your generosity and talent that you share.

I love this! I’ve been wanting to make a similar caddy for my gemini junior die machine but wasn’t sure how to do it. I’m going to use this plan and modify the size. Won’t need ironing material but should have some sturdy duck cloth in my stash. Thanks for great ideas and wonderful videos! ❤❤❤

I don’t at the moment, but you can make this in bigger size and use the insul-bright as the padding for insulation.

Do you have a pattern for a larger carrier?
I don’t but you can easily adjust this pattern. Just wrap around a bigger iron to see how much longer and wider you need.
I made it I just love it! Not to make it bigger. In your video you did you use two layers of batting?

Your directions are not specific for using batting and insulbrite. I am using iron on batting. So please describe the layering for me
I show in the video that I am using an ironing board cover with batting attached and need another layer. Use what you like for 2 layers of batting in between
