How can I extend/increase the number of lists. For instance make the list up to List 15?
i seen the last video before the generator video. i wanted it to stop counting combinations at 6 and it goes beyond to 7 etc. how do i make it restart counting after 6 and go bac to 1? i added an iferror and instead of putting blanks i put a 1 to see if would regenerate the counts and i ended with a lot of 1-1-1-1-1-1 combinations. also is there a way to remove the 500 combination cap from the combinations generator template? if so i can just use that to generate the combinations
Yes, the hidden HELP sheet needs to be extended to more than 500 combinations. Then, in the Formula in the final lists, update the range to go beyond 500 combinations.

- Maybe I missed it but is it possible to have more than 6 lists? If so, how do I generate additional lists to the template?
- Why are we limited by the maximum number of 500 combinations? Why not more?

I am coming up with a version that supports 10 lists. Will be published soon. If you would like to modify, changes are needed in the hidden sheet.
Similarly, in the hidden sheet, you can expand the number of rows to more than 500. This is more straight forward than the number of lists which require new formulas.
The new version will support at least 2000.

LIST 1- HAS 4 data, list 2 has 21 data, list 3 has 12 data, list4 has 6. It makes 7000+ combinations. Challenge- I can only till 500 and duplicates. Please advice

You can just select the last cell in the combination list and click-hold-drage the dot present in the bottom right of the cell to expand the formulas to more row. Or you can also select the last cell along with more rows and press CTRL+D to duplicate the formula from the last cell.

Great tool. Is there a way to eliminate/ignore results that have a duplicated value. Example: we have 4 lists that contain numberings 1 - 10. Then we would get results such as.. "1-1-1-1,1-1-1-2, 1-1-1-3, etc." i'm looking for results that don't contain duplicates. LIke "1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-5,1-2-3-6, etc. Any advice would be helpful. Great work!

Question - I have 10 digit (0 to 9) and i can choose only 4 digit, and digit can be repeated. My question is how many combination can be made whose total will be 19. Example - 0+2+9+8=19, 9+7+1+2=19

Currently, we do not have a Google Sheet version of this template but you can unprotect the hidden tab and create one. I believe all the formulas used in this Excel sheet are supported in Google Sheet, hence you can use it right away. One difference is here in Excel, we have used Excel tables, and in Google Sheet you will have to use Named ranges.

Hello! This a very good template, however it is generating duplicated combinations. That is, for example, I have generated a list of combination of 3 numbers (69, 75, 89) in 4 possibilities and some combinations are like 69, 69, 89, 69 / 69, 69, 69, 89 which are the same (3x69 + 1x89).
Is it possible to create a template that disregards these possibilities?

What if we need to make more than 500 iterations? How can we mod your already functional spreadsheet to allow us to make as many combinations as needed?

I wanna know how to have a number combination. for example, I enter 1,2,3,4 for four list. the combination should be 24 but the combination is showing only one. how do I go about it for getting the 24 combinations? for example like 1243,4123, 2413, and so on. looking forward to hearing from you

I think you are looking for 1) Repetition not allowed and 2) Order important. I don't have that specific flavor yet.
If you enter 1, 2, 3 and 4 in each of the 4 lists, you will see 256 combinations. That would include repeats like 1111, 1112, ....

Hi, i liked your template but i was basically looking for a way where there are 6 columns with different numbers from 1 to 20 in each row and giving us the result of occurrence of any 2 or 3 combination numbers in each row. For eg 1 & 2 have come how many times in each row form the 6 columns. Please let me know if you have a template like that

We are working on a solution where you can enter 1 list of N values (numbers or text) and then choose R to select from. For example, out of a list of 20 numbers, you can all combinations of 2 numbers at a time. Is that what you are looking for?

Hi...you're absolutely brilliant!! This is such a huge huge help. However, I'm wondering... we have a project to place about 900 persons in groups of 15. Each group has a coordinator, team leader, worker and helper. Can this template be used to organise the groups? Especially because we don't want persons duplicated in groups twice. @@indzara It is a table of 48 columns and 6 rows with numbers from 1 to 45 that have a partial combination of two digits to six digits or no combination (1 digit). In summary, the output is TWO 6-row columns, with 6 digits per column ultimately. Until now we do this manually and therefore very laborious. ANSWER on your question is two list of values as output.

The possibility of combinations from 2050 digits is extremely high, hence the same is not possible to handle in Excel.
