I really couldn’t pass up the deal at Costco for three outdoor, one indoor, one flood, and a doorbell for ~$200. Piece of mind at a great price. There are MUCH better systems out there. But this is a good start for me and my family.

My first camera system was Blink. It's an okay easy to use/install basic system. But there are better options. I decided I wanted more reliable cams. I went from Blink's 1080 resolution and short video recording (that sometimes miss events) to 4k POE cams, 24/7 recording, AI person/vehicle/pet detection, cams with siren and spotlight, no subscription fees.. Yes it was more expensive and a pain to run the ethernet cables in the attic but well worth it for family security. Battery cams are better than no cams at all though.

A little, “paranoid” are we …. Lol 👆👆👆👆
These blinks flood lights and other blink cameras are fine. Don’t let this “paranoid guy” scare you away from these.. I love them…
I mean, it will alert you and take video when someone’s in your “property” so either “confront” them or let your 4k or 8k record them and do nothin

@@B_HarTz As I said battery cams are much better than no cams at all. I started out with Blink, was happy with them for what they do. But battery cameras will not perform as good as wired cams, no matter what brand. I just wanted a better system. 24/7 recording is the best, that's why banks, businesses do it. I spent two days in the attic running ethernet cables so I could have wired cams. My Blink cam facing the street failed to record a car being broke into 40 feet away. My better POE cam with longer range recorded it. My wired cams have spotlights, warning siren, optical zoom and they have AI, can alert me if the movement is vehicle, person, pet. My wired cams cost about $110 each, well worth it in my opinion. My system does not require paying a subscription like Blink, Ring etc for full function. I pay no fees at all.

As a semi New blink owner. After the doorbell, I was impressed… whether your new or still browsing for that “good home security” blink blows the competition away. How so? I had ring and arlo, and arlo I still use, but for an all in one app to go with my Alexa’s, blink all the way

I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. czcams.com/users/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the video as it is very helpful in explaining parts and overall connections. I was setting up my new blink outdoor camera and got stuck as the Blink app was not recognizing the flood lights. I googled and came across your video. Your video was helpful in setting up. However I was still stuck with my blink app not recognizing the flood lights issue. Finally I was able to solve this by - 1)deleting the camera from blink app 2) Leaving the back cover of camera open (as you need the barcode to register) 3)Connecting the flood lights to camera (with its back cover open) 4) adding the camera into the blink app. It recognized the camera and flood lights. After that it was just a matter of disconnecting camera and connecting back again -by closing the back cover. Not sure whether I am the only one who had this issue. Wanted to share. Thanks again.

I just found out there is no way to activate the floodlight without arming the system. This means you can't use it like a normal floodlight when the system is not on. This is a disaster as I have already purchased 2 and mounted 1. I contacted customer support and apparently there is no way. So what are people supposed to do? Mount a normal motion floodlight next to the blink floodlight for when they just want light? This doesn't make any sense. This is so frustrating. How can this software be missing such a crucial feature?

The device consumes the camera's batteries very quickly, I have already regulated the intensity of the light, the duration of the clips, the quality of the video, the batteries do not last 15 days, otherwise I disconnect the device and the camera works for a long period.

Gotta say I'm not impressed with how it whites out your face with the light on...😳😳 actually defeats the purpose of the security system 🤦
Now, that being said, I do like the system if you're a mobile user, such as if you are a full time RVr. I have several cameras around my RV and inside mounted so there is not a blind spot anywhere my rig. I also use solar powered flood lights from Amazon as well and my neighbors on each side absolutely love the fact their lot is covered by my cameras too. Our sites are well posted that off site storage recording is in place 24/7. In fact my neighbor on one side had a vehicle broken into and set off the motion light and quite dumbly looked straight up and into the camera not 10 ft over his head🤣🤣
The police were actually impressed with my setup and was able to identify the guy easily. Now it seems everyone that sees my system wants to know more about it. I'm pretty crazy about using motion lights around my site as it keeps the "riff raff" from poking around our sites. I literally have one motion light set so if you step off the roadway into our driveway, it will light up.

Depends on what you're looking for, the average homeowner who has no existing cameras, wants easy installation and some surveillance at low cost, this is a great buy. For those who want to spend 1k+ and have 24/7 surveillance and the whole shabang there are certainly better options

@@Rzs31If you really want to know:
. battery life is a joke
. Synch module stops working for no apparent reason. Have to reset it often.
. First camera only lasted a few months. I did get it replaced at no charge
. Won't capture any fast moving motion.
. Night vision quality is terrible. You can't clearly see a person's face if they are furher than 10 feet away from the camera.
. Takes too long to access and view video once you get a motion alert
. Receiving alerts takes too long.
. Live view quality leaves a lot to be desired
. Suppose to be able to withstand cold weather but mounting base cracked after the first winter
. Compared to other apps, the Blink app leaves a lot to be desired
. Lots of triggers when it snows causing batteries to drain
. One time had to setup the system all over again after a Blink App upgrade.
Purchased a Ring camera system with built-in flood lights. Very impressed so far. It did take multiple times to setup motion range detection zones but now works like a charm. I don't miss the Blink camera!!!
