    I calculated this package I made and it cost me about $1.50. So I make sure to tack this fee onto the shipping and handling to the customer so there is no loss for me. You can always decrease the cost by buying your supplies wholesale.

    Why do I use two different types of resin in my projects?
    I use a casting resin to cast and a doming resin for doming.
    Casting resin is usually low in viscosity and works very well in molds without much issue with the bubbles. Also the low viscosity will allow the resin to reach detailed area of the mold. Doming resin is thick in viscosity and holds its shape very nicely. It creates a full dome and tends to hold the surface tension much better than low viscosity resin. So lower risk of the resin dripping off the sides. It also gives the piece a smooth, flawless finish.

    I calculated this package I made and it cost me about $1.50, give or take.... So I make sure to tack this fee onto the shipping and handling so there is no loss for me. Usually, if you go eco friendly, the cost is going to be higher. You can always lower your cost by going the non eco friendly route.

    watching you work is so great! I'm buying things from your links! I just wanted to know what size is the hole puncher you used? I have one but the holes arent that tiny. On amazon im going to try to buy a 1/16 puncher that is pink like yours. Also is the cord twisty firm or is it just neclace cord. I see that you tie it. wasnt sure if its twisty.

    • @AmyMade
      @AmyMade  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s 1/16 hole puncher. You don’t have to use the exact sized hole puncher as mine. As long as the hole is big enough for whatever you’re going to use to tie it on. Also I used a waxed cord because that’s all I had. But you can use anything from ribbons, thread, wire, etc. thank you!

    Hi, Tks for your sharing, I have a question, after I fully cured for 4 minutes under the uv lamp, the resin remains was still very sticky, and causing the fingerprints on the design when you want to get the design out of the mold, I just use uv resin isopropyl alcohol to clean the design, you know uv resin isopropyl alcohol can be used with resin 3d printer, it can remove the residual resin from the surface, but in here, my design becomes very matte in color and lost it's shine, why? I just felt a bit silly myself.

    • @AmyMade
      @AmyMade  Před 3 lety +1

      Because you’re literally removing a layer of resin. If the resin is not curing even after 4min, there are several reasons: 1. The light is not strong enough 2. The resin is old. 3. You’re not using a clear/transparent mold

    • @janetwang1870
      @janetwang1870 Před 3 lety +1

      @@AmyMade yeah, I was using a 6 watt mini uv lamp from amazon, and I just cured the resin design more than 10 minutes, ( curing the silicone mold (face side and botton side) more than 4 minutes with this mini UV lamp. Just flip the mold over and cure from the back as well.).
      Still one more question, if use Resin Printer Isopropyl alcohol to clean off the fingerprint form the surface of the resin design, shall we coat a new layer uv resin on the resin design again. so that can make sure the resin design remains shiny.

    Hey, copyright always confuses me. What can I make of characters without getting copyright claimed? For example, charms, decoden phone cases, etc. Bc some ppl say you can't and some ppl say you can. Do you get in trouble for your totoro shaker? Sorry if I come off as rude I don't mean to jm just an aspiring artist who hopes to start a small buisness out of crafts

    • @AmyMade
      @AmyMade  Před 2 lety +1

      You didn’t come off rude at all. SELLING any licensed characters is a copyright infringement. In order for it to be “legal” in fanart, the character has to be almost unrecognizable after adding your own components. I never sold my totoro shaker, so I didn’t infringe on the copyright. You can always make stuff using characters as long as you’re not selling them.

    • @frxggy.bdaycake
      @frxggy.bdaycake Před 2 lety

      @@AmyMade oh thank you so much for the reply! That makes sense. So as long as it's not a licensed character it's ok? Like I bought a bunch of stickers of a show I like on Amazon awhile ago, but I don't think it was an official type thing. So were they technically selling those illegally? Or when people put hello kitty charms on a phone case and sell it, is that technically illegal? My 15 year old brain is too stupid too understand heh. But thanks for replying I love your channel so much!

    • @AmyMade
      @AmyMade  Před 2 lety +1

      If the stickers are legitimately licensed, they’re not illegal to sell. For example if hello kitty stickers actually were produced by Sanrio, then its ok to sell or resell them. However, if you used those stickers in your crafts and are selling them, then it’s illegals. If you want to sell things legally, don’t use anything from movies, shows, comics, anime etc. Just because you see a lot of people doing it doesn’t make it legal
