01:04 Remove the ceiling plate above the old fixture
03:45 Take the weight off the wires using a coat hanger
04:28 Remove the wire nuts and detach the old fixture
05:19 Remove the old bracket
06:28 Install the bracket that came with the new fixture
06:40 TIP: speed things up with an electric screwdriver
07:05 TIP: Have extra screws on hand in case you drop them, or need a different length
07:47 Use the coat hanger trick to take up the weight of the new fixture
08:19 Feed the new fixture's wires through the center hole in the new bracket
08:58 Get your nuts ready and sort out the wires
09:53 TIP: I've learned to give the wires a twist before putting the wire nut on; it makes a much stronger connection

11:42 Screw the stem into the bracket
11:59 Pull excess wire through to snug the fixture up (you'll hide the excess wire under the decorative plate)

I’m so glad you’re still releasing these videos. There’s alway something relatable. Recently I was replacing my electric shower and laughed at some of the little annoying problems that made it take longer.
Spot on cat impression.
Thank you. I've practiced a lot to really nail the authenticity.
Hi there, an off topic comment which I hope isn’t inappropriate. A fellow Canadian and talented furniture refinisher/repairer (female) also has a CZcams channel, John’s Furniture Repair . She is currently going through a difficult time mainly from an either unscrupulous or incompetent company mismanaging the build of her new shop, as well as health issues AND (one of those years). Her last video explains the whole saga. As the original Canadian woman with a shop, I think it would lift her spirits if you were to drop her a comment. Her followers are covering her losses, but a little sprinkling of celebrity dust would help too! ❤
Let me look into that. Thanks for the heads up. I'm travelling this week so it might take me a day or two. Mag
