Yes... Usually most anime have great storytelling... And art direction... Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai are just pure LEGENDS... blessed to be in this generation... ✨️
Isayama, kentaro, tsugumi ohba, kana akatsuki, yoshitoki oima, honobu yonezawa they all wrote amazing stories they do deserve the praise but the thing is that dude is a film maker miyazaki who just goes in flows without script that's why kesh pointed that out, which is great amazing people
See and this is why I kinda feel like the advice to always plan things out isn't always the best.. Maybe just listen to a song and let the story play out like a journey. Fluid, natural, and on its own.
I agree! This man is an absolute brilliance! He draws movies like he portrays life. Also what i like about him is his “why” on making films. He wants children (though in my opinion, this goes to everyone) to be willing and feel glad to be alive.
That’s so cool! I’m a writer first and all my novel ideas have always started from an image and then I start piecing together other images and story ideas to get to that image. I’ve been learning how to draw to try and get the images in my head on paper. Edit: not saying I’m like him or anything, just cool to hear his process and relate to him
@@KeshArt yeah I’ve always “seen” my stories like movies in my head and it always starts with one image that I can’t stop thinking about. I just have to figure out how the story gets there.
Man when I watched my neighbour totoro after idk 10 years that nostalgia just hit me too hard For some reason hayao miyazaki's and studio gibhli's works are Helland famous here in the North East specially mizoram, mizo people even dubbed it in their own language and made mizo dubbed songs from the movie too
I do this too..i thought planning before is necessary😅 i usually draw a scene and think what next scene would look like. Well i do write a story summary beforehand.
Actually i tried to draw story but it was getting difficult for me so then i started to draw some drawings which is related to my content just like we see in some story books......I also tried make some comics but i failed, i wrote only two pages of comic..... But I'll try best and will show my whole story in drawing😊
I don't care what anyone says Hayao Miyazaki is one of best movie writer of all time. I grew up watching his movies and aspires me to make movies like him one day.
Yeah...there are also times when the script has to be changed to match the scene... In "the wind rises", the final word of the female protagonist is changed from "love" to "live", which has added great depth to the plot...
But at the end he has to write to the animators and the crew. There's a documentary that shows that he don't like this stage of the process, but you know, it's part of the job. I HIGHLY recommend this documentary. It shows how even a genius can question himself about his own potential, is free btw. "10 years with Hayao Miyazaki"
Most people won't be able to create meaningful films this way. Most will make meandering films that feel like they are just movement with no point to it. There are many short films that are like this on youtube.
True and not. Major studios(especially Disney) place a huge emphasis on having the script first and then storyboards second. There’s somewhat equal emphasis. They go back and forth. But not as much as ghibli(based on the source documentary) - Miyazaki places first emphasis on storyboards oftentimes with the final boards getting ready when the final animations have started for the first part of the film. There are also times when there’s “no script” with the boards doing most of the heavy lifting for communicating the end vision to the team.
Hi Kesh, Hope you're doing well! My name is Kabir Singh. I'm a middle school student,a CZcamsr, an intermediate artist and an Indian just like you. I've been watching your videos for almost a year now and I was like Holy Mother of God , that's who I want to be. So I want you to become my mentor. Because I feel that you will understand me best as you have been through with finding your own style that is ,cartoons! I've listed the things I want to learn from you and I've Dm'd you my drawings on Instagram and this message. Long story short, make me your "Praveen 2" who is your right hand man/editor/artist. You will see changes in his behavior, personality and art.Peace! 1.Character design 2.Editing 3.How to approach this art style P.S: I am using my mother's email for now. Thanks, Kabir

Kentaro Miura too, sad that we lost him so soon...

I like anime but I hate the word idk y
@@sunathesnake you didn't add Satoshi kon
Makoto's animation is ok, just way too much fx. But not close to miyazaki at all
Miyazaki's movies narrate a story with strong characters and deep emotion.....that anyone can understand without much scripts.
Well he isn't known as the Walt Disney of Japan for nothing.
hell nah... he’s the studio ghibli of japan will always be.
So you’re saying he’s an asian Nazi?
Walt Disney was born on 5 December whereas Hayao Miyazaki was born on 5 January...😅🎉
Somewhat coincidental...
Disney 😂
I thought that term was used for Osamu Tezuka.

True, Stephen King apparently follows the same process. Doesn't have the end in mind for his novel
@@KeshArt yeah, the problem is you can tell king does not know how to end his books. He even makes fun of it.

Miyazaki's art and story telling are absolutely timeless
Whoahh!!! I didnt knew that
Thank you for Showing us!!!
I think exactly like Miyazaki, I don't like words to express. Just one difference between us, I just don't know how to draw like that.
I absolutely love the films that are made by him, the visuals, the world, it's all great
Nice bgm
Not just him there are many directors like that for example bergman, james cameron etc..

People plan out their stories before writing them? I just get an idea and start writing it figuring it out as i go

Yeah. Just like what Disney and Warner did in the golden age of animation. Not all directors or animators started with the script.
Old Ghibli movie 😭✨
Love studio Ghibli movies!!
