    Use a heat gun or keep it above the flame! I built a few custom loops for water cooled pc's so I've got more hours of practice than I care! Best way is to place heat gun on the table facing up and use both your hands to maneuver and control the tube over the heat. the correct distance from the heat source takes a bit to get, but roughly an an inch or two is good. Thanks for the review, about to pick one up from buceplant. Wish I knew about this sooner bc I took delivery of the regular Neo just yesterday. Always need backups and spares tho!

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  Před 4 lety

      it depends for what purpose you need to count the bubbles. old version Neo diffuser will have different size bubbles formed inside the diffuser body compared to a bubble counter. New flat type Neo diffuser body is too small imo to be used as a bubble counter. If you only want to have an estimate, I guess its possible. I recommend using drop checker or measuring ph and kh for accurate Co2 dosing

      Usually it’s not a problem, and the water is pushed out next day. If you for whatever reason want to prevent this from happening, observe how long it takes for the water to get inside the diffuser and set your Co2 timer to go on briefly every given period of time. But honestly, I never bothered about this, maybe make sure you’re using co2 proof tubing as it can help

    • @sachaholt6023

      Garrett Kimble I’ve had both. Go for inline. Not only is there practically no maintenance (you need to clean algae off I tank diffusers), but it also looks nicer and allows better distribution of co2. Also, something I found when using an intank diffuser is that you can hear a high pitch noise as the bubbles are forced through the ceramic, which you can’t hear from inline. As the basis of your decision, if you’re getting a nano tank (below 60 litres) use in tank, anything bigger than that use inline.

    Hello! I really enjoy all your video guys. I have a quick question. Is it good or bad to place the Co2 diffuser just next to the suction pipe of my external filter? I'm thinking like this the Co2 has more time to dissolve in the water before being injected back to the tank via the outlet pipe. But maybe the Co2 concentration will be too high for my beneficial bacteria inside my external filter.
    What are your thought about it ?

      Pressure vs area. Pressure over a larger area creates smaller bubbles. Like a water hose with a tiny nozzle, it'll put more pressure into a tiny area forcing it to come out faster, which you do not want as it will be bigger bubbles that do not dissipate in the water. You want a mist, that dissolves before reaching the surface.

      As to prevent the tubing from popping off of the acrylic pipe I got the idea that the tubing between the diffuser and check valve should be kept as short as possible thereby minimizing water from flowing backwards into the tubing. I have not tried that by myself but will do soon since the system failed on me a couple of times also. I suppose the pressure builds up too high if CO2 forces too great an amount of water out of the diffuser. In other words I reckon gas passes the diffuser plate easier than water. Seems as if this is the flip side of the very tiny bubbles it can create. Cleaning thoroughly with citric acid and chlorine is mandatory once a week also. Another idea for those of you who encounter similar problems is to add some drops of citric acid into the acrylic pipe itself and see if that helps.

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  Před 4 lety +1

      No coloring, but if you scrub it with a brush it can become scratched. But usually one is using bleach for cleaning diffusers and not hard brushes so that’s no problem
