- What happens when a publisher makes a game with a clever name to try to trick buyers into thinking it's a game from a very popular series on PlayStation? Well, you get this game.

When the marble race is more exciting than the actual game lol
Yeah, the last few hits have been kinda rough
Marble race choosing the game is genius (: I love whoever suggested it!
I’m only here for the marble races at this point
@ciaddproductions6260 I'm not knockin thab. This game just looks so shit lol
Fun fact: the Nascar race that the wall strat happened was the 2nd to last race of the season. By the time the next season started, wall strats were outlawed.
NASCAR officials are cowards.
I was honestly surprised Tony Stewart never did that intentionally
When he did wall strats in the video I definitely paused just to go watch that again.
End of an era
@@greenagooIt's not something rational to do, it completely destroys the car. The only reason Ross Chastain had to go for it is because of how stupid the NASCAR playoff system is, and it's the only reason the moment created such a payoff. He passed exactly enough people to still be eligible for the championship in the final race with that move, and it didn't payoff for anything more than a viral moment thanks again to NASCARs idiotic playoffs.
Long story short, it's a reckless move that destroys your car, has a high chance of injuring if not killing someone, and will likely never give anyone a chance to benefit from such a move again unless there's a major rules change.
they pretty much rebuild those entire cars after every race anyway.
I loved the first Extreme G as a kid. It's so fast, has style like nothing else, and the soundtrack slaps so hard.
oh yes.. i had to put my N64 on a Tapedeck, to record the Soundtrack... thats great 90s techno stuff
all three soundtracks were incredible!
#2 was my jam
why NOT to read comments first.
Even though I turned out to be a metalhead, I love the Extreme-G soundtrack. There are some great remixes of it on youtube.
This is actually based on the All-Japan Grand Touring Championship (aka Super GT), hence those cars are from the 1997 season (except the imagineer and ocean cars)
It's been too long since we had a racing game on the N64.
Or a wrasslin game...
@@jordanbridges Someone missed a trick at Nintendo. WWE vs NASCAR mashup. The Undertaker vs Mustang GT - would have sold millions! 😁
Extreme g is up next and it’s a great game.
"Unmarked Marble... WHAT'S THAT"
Is this some sort of magical Tuesday-Friday?!?!
I seriously had to rethink what day it was
ThaBeast is a Magic Man!
He said something about uploading more often the other day
New schedule homie
Yep, video on Friday as well
For the "real" Championship you have to drive 24 laps each track. In that mode the tires wear out and you also have to pu up gasoline, so it´s a much nicer experience... That´s if you can stand the sluggish framerate. After beating that cup, the reverse tracks will be available.
You can tell the true racing game fans, because they're the ones who seem to find that doing 24 laps in a race is eight times as enjoyable as doing three.
I dunno why, but JAP - version of GT64 is somehow better, i actually can play it for a while, but why would anyone play this game when almost every other N64 game is better.
One of my biggest takeaways from this series is just how many racing games there are for the n64. Damn
"I just cannot believe someone would drop a game with 3 tracks to drive on"
Namco: "..."
At least Ridge Racer had the excuse that it was an arcade port and a launch title. This game is just cheaply made.
Glitch in the matrix moment
As the balls rolled, I thought about all my fond memories playing Extreme G and that if you liked the other high-speed racing games, you would have a blast with that game and its sequel. And then BAM, winner winner chicken dinner.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Love this series, so much nostalgia.
I loved ExtremG growing up! hope it still holds up.
I haven't seen Extreme G since that one afternoon I played it in my buddy's house in 1998! Can't wait!
The sequel was one of my favorite games growing up, still find myself going back to it from time to time
Developers at the time took advantage, of the lack of a proper Gran Turismo competitor.
They baited us with games like this one. 😢
Plus - I don't think the N64 ever actually got a proper Gran Turismo-like game.
@@acomingextinction Some say World Driver Championship, but they don't know what they're talking about.
Extreme-G was my jam!.. probably the first time I heard acid/techno aswell.
XTreme G is one of my favorite old school series. I'm hype.
He did do the wall strat IRL and he said he learned it from the NASCAR video games. Though the league deemed it too dangerous and banned it after that.
Looking forward to the Extreme G video, hope he unlocks the Neon bike! That thing was immense
"Next we're playing Extreme G"
finally, a good game.
Xtreme G is a solid game, played alot of it back in the day
Anybody interested, just look up Ross Chastain Martinsville to see the real life example of wall strats. It was the last race of a round in the playoffs and he was going to be eliminated if he didn’t make up a few positions on the last lap, so he just sent it into the turn and ended up advancing to the championship race because of it. It is outlawed now though haha
Playoffs?
@@shaneclark5022NASCAR is such a brilliant series that the execs thought adding playoffs to the format would bring them back to their glory days when they could compete with the NFL... Still the only racing series dumb enough to think they need a playoff format 😂
I always watch the marble races on 1.5x speed because it sounds like a real race with the commentators haha
This made me look up "wall strats in nascar" and it's worth your time... I'm not a car dude, but it's seriously legit!
Racing games with very few tracks were a bit more common than you think. Genesis Virtua Racing and Daytona USA also only have 3 tracks each… but they are also way better games than this one.
He’s beating all of them. And I mean all of them.
He really means all of them... It's psychopathic.
I will not be watching all of them. But I will be watching most of them.
Excited to see you do Extreme-G, one of my favorite rentals as a kid.. the speed, atmosphere and slammin techno soundtrack are so awesome!
Video published on a Tuesday? Cool! What a surprise!
I am so glad you released on Tuesday, I was doing the math and it would be like 3 years or something to finish this challenge with one release a week... I am too curious to wait that longgg! Hahah. Thanks as always!!!
Oh my god.
I remember GT64.
I went back to my bedroom after college and heard a weird and loud sound like a vaccum cleaner from my brother's bedroom. I knocked his door and he said "Come in", with a cold tone.
The vaccum cleaner was in fact the sound of the cars in GT64. The game, running on a PAL 50 Hz N64 (so even slower than in this video), was atrocious. My brother couldn't find the words to describe how terrible the game was to play.
Fastest game we sent back to the store.
I had almost the same experience, at least I was just renting the game, played it for 30 minutes, went right back to the store and exchanged it for another game haha
Bump up the music on Extreme G the soundtrack is amazing.
Yay - I loved Extreme G back in the day.. it blew my mind how fast it was. I bet I am going to be really sad seeing it again in 2024 😞
the cars in this game handled like bricks. I commend you for playing this game without turning it off and playing something better. Give Rush 2 for N64 a whirl. Better graphics and legit physics
I love your n64 vids... they are legend. But I'm going to tune into every single episode, not because of the game, but because of the marbles. O7
Top Tip! It indeed is shovel-ware, but it's not Rally, it's meant to reference the JGTC road racing series. Though it's attempt to capture the realism of that series is nearly nil.
Just discovered you, and love this content and going back watching the catalog
Surprise Tuesday release! You spoil us Thab
Where is it still Monday!?
Tuesday?
Lol he edited
Yep, presidents day tripped me up since I didn't work XD
It's a strange coincidence that you've been getting tons of racing games now that you select your next game with a marble race.
Crazy that you made it almost half way through all the games already! That just means there is more of a chance you get to all my favorite games I had as a kid. Ogre battle 64, Rayman 2, donkey Kong 64 and banjo kazooie
He played Rayman 2 already.
Loved extreme g back in the day! stoked.
Extreme-G is wonderful, still plays great on the N64. Frame rate isn't fantastic but totally playable.
Be cool to see if you can finish Meltdown on Extreme. That's the only way to class it as beaten. 1st place in every race will unlock the bonus track if that's your thing. Good luck :)
The marbles are intense every time! Love this series!
The Japanese Version "City Tour GP" replaces the US and Europe Tracks with 2 other Tracks set in Japan, they essentially made 5 locations with a total of 10 Tracks for this game, and yet they decided to not make a version of the game with all of them.
Feel like I’ve been watching this for years! Love ya thab
Im just here for Thab's commentary of the marble race.
Man, I wish you had a 'your' marble in the race so if it wins, you actually choose the game you wanna play next instead!
You are a damn good commentator. The marble race was really fun to watch.
Nice, Extreme-G was one of my favourite games as a kid, I look forward to that video! I think it was the second game I got on the console, so I played it a lot.
I'm super pumped to see extreme g! One of my favorite games from the N64
My “journey” to beat gt64 CE, is an overstatement 😂
I loved extreme G as a teen! Awesome!
Xtreme G rules, was playing it just the other day! Keep killin it homie.
It's good to see an early installment of a wall-strats type game. I look forward to seeing more in the future.
Extreme G had some amazing music
Love the fact your playing the full collection 😅
I really like these Mahjong Racing games, it adds a nice twist to the already top tier Mahjong action!
Extreme G is an awesome game. Looking forward to that video
Extreme G so good! Excited for it
Bonus upload. Nice
You are doing something that no one else in the world has ever done. This is epic
I had to check my calendar to make sure I wasn't wrong.
Yes! Extreme g! Loved that game!
Arguably the marble race was more exciting than the game this time 😂
Ocean GTR is Lamborghini Diablo
Ooooh, I remember playing Extreme-G back then. I think I got it at a rental store for a weekend. I immediately recognized the box art.
Love this series
Omg best Tuesday ever with this secret drop!
next video is gonna be LIT used to love playing that game with the fisheye code
5:54 He Chastained it!!!
2:59 - The only option is to quit? I guess the devs knew.
I woke up to this alert and thought, damn Friday already?
Same man haha
I remember playing Extreme-G a lot, I've been waiting to see if it lives up to my memory
I actually enjoy playing it now more than I used to as a kid because I've gotten better at racing games. Back then I had no sense of racing line or breaking timing, I just assumed all racing games should be like a cruisn arcade racer.
Looking forward to Extreme G. I wore that cartridge out on my 64 haha
The first Ridge Racer game only had 1 track. It's sequel only had like 2. The original Sega Rally had only 4. Daytona USA about 2 or 3. Manx TT I think 2 tracks. It was pretty common back in the 90s. Often they'd have reverse modes or mirror track modes though to pad things out, something that Ridge Racer popularized. Or 2-3 main courses and a secret course with mad requirements needed to unlock it, to keep people playing.
And it was a complaint even back then, about there not being enough content to justify the game. But personally, Sega Rally on the Sega Saturn lasted me longer than any racing game I've ever owned before or since. It had 3 courses, which wasn't as bad as just 1-2, and it had an additional secret course which was hard to unlock. And because the game was so quality, and because of the time attack and ghost car mode (still uncommon at the time), you just didn't get bored of it.
An unexpected treat, but a welcome one.
Xtreme G is awesome. Cant wait
Love the vids
Oh yeah I'm ready for more 🎉
I really enjoy the marble race! Makes the next game reveal exciting! Haha.
that Castrol paint job got me excited because it reminded me of Sega Rally, but... this sure ain't that lol
Oh wow!!!!! I cannot wait to see extreme g!!!! I used to play this game so much as a kid.
Next game is a banger. Played it so much as a kid
I can't wait for Road Rash!
I was just playing that one last night. It's especially fun with a friend or multiple.
When I read about this game as a pro-PlayStation anti-N64 fanboy back in the day, I genuinely thought this was a Nintendo 64 retooling of Grand Theft Auto Turismo! It wasn’t until the mid-2000s that I dropped my anti-N64 stance!
this is my favorite journey of all time.
I remember this game, so many years it was the "rival" of gran turismo in ps1 not even close, N64
Seen the post about 2 videos. Coudnt help but think for a minute that my week had skipped to Friday haha
Excited for extreme g
I just can't wait for you to get to Quest64...
Maybe when this Is all over we need a top racing games on the 64 video. There's soooo many!
Man I loved the extreme g games so much fun😊
You can increase the laps up to 24. The max lap settings has fuel management. Yeah, this game is very short.
waiting in anticipation fpr extreme G .... it was one of my favourites on the n64
i extreme g was a pretty fun game, racing as well but cool jumps on future bikes
christmas in february. thanks thabta claus
Fun fact: this is the best series on CZcams right now!
Can't wait for world driver championship, loved that game and still go back to it.
I keep forgetting there are marble races now and getting a massive dopamine rush at the end of every video
hell yea, an early post!
Yes!!!! Extreme-G!! Love that game so much and it's soundtrack
I rented extreme g all the time as a kid. Flicking loved it.
