This is a perfect example of POWER IN = POWER OUT. Yes kids, if you want to run big amps, you need a good charging system to back it up. I'm very impressed with Rockville's amp here also.
Nice. Maybe Rockville is trying to improve their image after the whole sub fiasco. That and the 3 different ratings on the amps. If it's a 1500 watt RMS amp, just give us that rating. We don't need some explanation like 3000 watt when comparing to Hifonics and 6000 watt when comparing to Boss. Just tell us what it really does. Maybe include a blurb in the add about not being overrated like some other manufacturers do.
I agree. Especially about the 3 ratings. Having a CEA rating that differs from what they called an RMS rating was not only wrong but caused tons of confusion. Now they're calling it CEA RMS only, which could be confusing to anyone still going by those prior Rockville definitions. But the good in all of it, we've got a budget amp that does rated power and it seems to be a very solid piece of gear that I wouldn't hesitate to use.
No what is happening here rockville had no choice to copy a comp level amp board so they had to spend more money to get the starter kits amp boards :D LOL
Have you tried any rockville k9d2 s if so more than just one? I got 4 15s about to do 6 12s in a new ride! No blown subs! Watt per watt dollar per dollar I can't find a better subwoofer! Definitely going to buy the amps now!
Rockville amps are great in general. They sound amazing. The power is good but the sound quality is really stunning. It's because the mosfets they use are actually for making music.

You're very welcome! Dual inputs won't fit due to the angled inputs and screws the amp uses. I still have it hooked up and may hit it with .5 or .8 dynamic on Monday.

@@Facekicker I've seen some angled dual inputs made by ILL Customs that will fix the stupid angled inputs on the amp and straighten everything out. I'm sure you wouldn't get them in time to use them for this particular amp, but they may be useful in the future to fix this kind of thing. It's probably worth the $19 they cost in aluminum. Not sure if they make a copper version.
@@Facekicker well than maybe try a 0 gauge to a 0 gauge distubution block 1 0 to the amp and 2 0 output to your power supply. Not sure if that would work? If not just use the thickest wire you can find.
I think these Dyno runs should start at 4 ohm and end at tvm ohm. I believe this way the amp is warm before it gets to 1ohm , stressing the amp is also part of the dyno run which test its capability to stand up to some abuse music abuse. Let’s see if amps can stand the pressure.
If u read directions for the amp and seen the LIMITER switch u would seen more power and understand why it was reading a constant 13.6 volts !!!! I tried to tell u 2 years ago about the switch that limits voltage to 13.6 volts and u can. Turn it off and then run high voltage and do high wattage burps with the amp.
I'll take an educated guess and say the DBComp4 and DBComp5 use the same power supply section and the DBComp5 just has one or more output devices. If this is the case, the DBComp4 may be more reliable as the power supply would be just a little less stressed. I have used 2 Rockville amps for over 3 years without issues and I might be lucky. Still very pleased with them. I ordered the DBComp4 based on this. I also believe and hope Cadence is still producing Rockville Amps. 30 years car audio experience and was a Cadence dealer for several years back around 2010. The Rockville amp manuals and the Cadence amp manuals are almost verbatim on certain models.
I have a db12 on one Rockford P3d4-10 and am very happy. Seeing this, when I upgrade it'll be to the db comp series and a couple destroyers. I'm super impressed with that run on the dyno for sure. Didn't expect that at all.

I think their amps are decent. I have an rva-m2 hooked to a Skar SDR 12 in my work truck and it barely gets warm. I just wanted some decent sound in my daily driver without a big budget. I punish this setup daily and have had no issues. I can't say it is absolutely hitting its numbers but it certainly seems to be.
Very impressed I might look into this amp although it’s hard to part with my Rockford Fosgate system. My new goal though is to build a high efficient system with less dollars Just to see all the new hype is with all the new products. I’m old school so we’ll see. Thanks great job.
Rockville amps are pretty solid, mids and highs r garbage, can't take rated, no idea about subs tho..I've put PLENTY of thier amps in customers vehicles that have been there for years now.

Been running it for about week with my subs wired at .33 and so far so good thanks to box rise which for my situation actually need some. Also the built in voltmeter works like it should on my amp not sure why his is not reading correctly.

I didnt clamp the current, but that's something I'll likely try to cover in upcoming videos. As far as heat, it didn't heat up on the dyno, and it's been in a build since the video was shot, kicking ass ever since with no heat issues. It really seems to be a solid amp.

Just subscribed because of this video. I got a question on the 1 ohm load did the amp get hot. And I haven't looked it up but is that based off of the hifonics and mb quart style amps it looks very similar to the inputs.
Pyramid of the 80's... Pfft. Pyramid never ever had 3" voice coils.. I've run the k6 v2 15" 2ohm coils, for over a year and each sub is ran by an ignite 3000.1D. One ohm load and I am sure they are getting more than 1k rms each. Still pounding the crap out of my car. Putting this amp on 4k9 12" subs in my truck. Both the 15" and 12" use 3" voice coils. The voice coils do make a big difference being 3" vs 2" or 2.5". They are no pyramid sir..
I figured it out a while back the volt meter is pulling off of the remote turn on if you have a relay going from battery to remote turn on it fixes the issue
@@willwilliams9237 that sounds like you're onto something. I've since switched to a relay on my bench for different reasons but that very well could have been what happened to me. My head unit was not putting equal remote voltage out as it was receiving, about a full volt lower.
Was wondering if you could review the Rockville RXH-F5 5 3200 watt 5 channel amp. I own this amp and really like it. Would like to know if it actually delivers on performance. No one has ever reviewed this amp as I have looked all over CZcams and other sources.
Try doing a amp dyno test of the rockvillEe rpa5 pro audio amplifier because I’m curious to know if their pro audio amplifiers can actually do their rated rms power.
I ordered some 6.5s from them. Boxes were fine and even the Rockville boxes were fine but speakers were crushed all up that tells me they put them in the box like that from Rockville. Nahhh not again.

@@savikabudsuke8213 I've owned the amps..the db and phenom and neither impressed me..iv had the k9v2 in 10-12-and 15 and they are so so..my 15 at 700rms got stinky but not to shabby for music..the pair of k6 12s I had impressed me for the money...so I have hopes rockville is getting this ironed out...i have the 0 gauge wire in my durango and have had it for about 2 yrs..not bad....the components I got from them were sub par..tweeters couldn't handle power.
It says 3500 And did more, clean, on a certified test. Clean power = clean power You won't hear a difference vs another amp with the same certified results Longevity is the only thing in question here

The way their input screws are angled it will prevent them from making good contact on any solid inputs. No solid inputs will work.

The voltmeters goes off remote wire input so you would need to put on relay if you want accurate results

Their amps are great, it’s the subs that are iffy and that comes down to the supplier.

Also it has a voltage regulator switch on it and that my be why the voltage reads lower

It is possible that the amplifier is internally regulated and the voltmeter is after the regulation circuitry.

probably not great its a cheap amp. if youre trying to run .5 ohms get a better amp or just get an amp that does the power you want at rate ohm load

@JamieHavican Show I wonder how thry do in hot areas? I'm in AZ and the heat kills amps. Rockfords do well, my cabinet guy says he likes crossfire, and db for their ability to produce power without burning down your vehicle.

It has a limiter button for competition use u musta had it turned on turn it off it puts out another 1krms at 1 ohm 5k total 6k .8
This amp certainly won't put out 6k, and the results are excellent for a 3500w amp.
No limiter was set, this is the amps full ability.
@@Facekicker it has a burp setting on the side called limiter was just asking if u had it enabled or off u want it off to do big dynamic numbers i have the comp 4 it does 3888 on 1 ohm clamped that my amp also sits at 13.6 volts before entire output section burned up
So why if this amp is advertised with a rating at 1 ohm does it come with a paper saying its 2 ohm stable and not to wire it under 1.5 ohm?
The manual with mine clearly shows a 1 ohm minimum impedance, nothing says not to wire under 1.5.
Whas the limter switch in or off for this test? Cant seem to find much info about it!

I take it you ran your test with battery chargers on. Cause for 3k power sure doesnt drain your batteries like other amps.

@@savikabudsuke8213 I've owned the amps..the db and phenom and neither impressed me..iv had the k9v2 in 10-12-and 15 and they are so so..my 15 at 700rms got stinky but not to shabby for music..the pair of k6 12s I had impressed me for the money...so I have hopes rockville is getting this ironed out...i have the 0 gauge wire in my durango and have had it for about 2 yrs..not bad....the components I got from them were sub par..tweeters couldn't handle power.

And did more, clean, on a certified test.
Clean power = clean power
You won't hear a difference vs another amp with the same certified results
Longevity is the only thing in question here
@@Facekicker nah...had the phenom m4 was suppose to be 2200rms not even close..couldnt move my 12s...swapped out to a memphis mc1000 and it was slamming...i hope rockville has fixed the issues..i think it can be a great budget performing company...but they have a shit record to overcome..
@@MyBlowncobra because the M4 was grossly overrated, your other amp almost certainly made more power and that's the difference you heard.
Volt meter is reading off the remote input i put a relay on mine and it reads dead on voltage
