I have the later issue of this kit, and dryfitting it, it looks like the windshields should fit okay. But I will keep this fix in mind and have the styrene rod on hand JIC! 👍

I have this kit and have heard about the window issues, but haven't checked the fit. I took a different path with the grille. On my project, I sanded the back of the grille down until the filler between the ribs was gone. It will probably be necessary add a spacer to locate the grille at the proper depth, but I have bigger issues with the opening doors.

I started to do that very same thing with the grille, but I didn't trust myself to not ruin it that way, lol. I also hadn't thought about that issue with the spacing.

My biggest problem is with building an interior to work with the opening doors. I made a preliminary attempt and didn't like the way it was coming out. One issue is that the window frame is going to have to be made out of metal because the styrene kit frame is to flimsy and won't stay in shape. I have too many irons in the fire to work on it. A friend of mine has told me that if you fabricate something, it has to work every time. That means it has to be dependable.

I tried this kit in NY in 1999. I was very upset with this glasses issues. I keep engine, rear axle, frame and springs and trow the body to garbage. It s a shame AMT does not fix it in 25 years.

You could use a scribing tool to open up the grill, (JMO)
