    Very, very good tips. I sometimes put top dressing on my plants in soil like mini stones or pon to keep the adults ones from getting into the pot. My friend uses sand to top dress her plants.

      That's what we've heard as well ^_^ However because we have so many plants in the store we couldn't use this method to top dress them one by one

    I went plant crazy in spring 2019, bought 100 plants for my 10x12' office in the Pacific NW, lots of ferns & calathea & 70% RH. I (no joke) had 1,000 gnats flying around, and the yellow stickies were covered and didn't make a difference. ** I switched to bottom watering 'exclusively' and it killed them all! Since then whenever I see a tinge of gray on the top soil I spray it with undiluted Hydrogen Peroxide - and I never ever have fungus gnats.

      How long do you let them sit in the water? I tried it last watering, but I left them too long & the got soaked & white mold formed a couple days later 😬 Thankfully, it hasn’t harmed any of them yet.

      @@GreenWitch1 Usually 10-15 minutes! and squeeze the pot so there's no excess water 🙂

      @@PlantCornerNYC Thanks. I did 30 minutes & it was too much.

      @@GreenWitch1 there’s always an exception! If the soil doesn’t hold much water then I usually leave them in water much longer as well.

    I mix a little bit of neem oil every time I water and if I am consistent with it, it really helps with getting rid of them. I also use sticky traps to combat the adult gnats.

    I used to make tobacco tea to pour on the soil. And I washed the foliage and where the twigs joined the branches with soap and water.

      Oohhh that is so important! we often overlook the stems but that's where a lot of pests can infest

      @PlantCornerNYC  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes, I would stick to nematodes or beneficial bugs and if it doesn’t get better, you can switch to other methods ☺️ glad to hear that the videos are helpful!

      I’ve heard about them! And may have experience with them but they are so small it’s hard to tell. I’ve found this blog that could be helpful anaturalcuriosity.org/flat-mites/
