    This video tutorial shows you how to correctly thread your b48 or b44 for overlock stitches. After you have set the needles to the highest position, you can raise the presser foot. Now the thread tensions are released, and you can thread starting with the upper looper into the blue color-coded guides. For the lower looper, you afterwards thread the red guides. The video then shows you how to thread the right overlock needle (green guides) and the left overlock needle via the yellow guides. If you follow the video step by step, threading your overlocker is really simple.

    I could not find the little bump for the last step of of threading the lower looper.
    I wish you had a better diagram.

      Hi Ivy, thanks for your feedback and inquiry. No, this bernette machine does not come with threads. But you have reached us at the bernette headquarters and supply may vary from country to country. So please feel free to negotiate with your local dealer for a special deal. We wish you fun and pleasure sewing with your new bernette overlocker.

    Why does my red one keep coming out of the tension disk?

    • @Mybernette
      @Mybernette  Před rokem

      Dear Amanda, a good question, but not easy to reply from a remote desk without more details about handling or machine condition. We propose you check the threading path, pre-tension threading and tension threading and threading of the guide just under the edge of the cover after your red (and blue) tension dial. Assuming you had the foot raised when threading, the tension disk should close upon lowering the foot. Try stitching with the tension set to 4, 3, 2 and 1 and see if it makes a difference in thread jumping out or stitch quality. You may want to use a piece of paper and go between the open tension disks to check/clean out any thread remains or dust that prevents proper closing of the tension disks. If the issue continues, you may want to see your authorized bernette dealer for an analysis and solution to that issue. We wish you happy sewing with your bernette!

      Hi Tanya, please refer to this video to see how the purple chainstitch looper is threaded on b48 and b42. It is referring to the purple coded threading path, but filmed on the b42. Both models have the purple coded path and the thread travels the same guides: czcams.com/video/D-eFdKVZru8/video.html

      I know this a bit late but if anyone with a b48 is still having trouble getting their overlock to chain on a b48, I have just realised what I was doing wrong. I was threading the chain looper eye of the purple path instead of the middle eye of the upper looper on the red path. A specific video of the b48 would be super helpful on this, as the diagrams in the book do not show all the possible threading paths together.

    Recently purchased this machine and I can honestly say I do not like the Bernina corporation. I would say they have really bad customer service if they had any. I always wanted a Bernina and now regret this purchase. If you want support this is not the company for you. No phone numbers provided and do not respond to your e-mail. Tools left out in the machine along with threads and materials. I would expect this from Walmart.

      @@laurac7450 Indeed, very unusual. You know Bernina in Switzerland are known for their excellent customer service, but you can't reach the company itself, they will always tell you to go to your BERNINA Authorized Dealer where you bought the sewing machine. Try to reach out for your dealer. Good luck! Best wishes from Switzerland ♥

      Dear Laura C, We are very sorry to hear that your experience in being a bernette customer is not the best one. As you did not specify where you bought the machine, it is difficult to make a statement, however, your dealer of trust should be able to support you in using the product or service it. Of course, the bernette/BERNINA distributor in your country will concentrate on supporting your dealer providing this service to its best. We can not verify where you are and strongly recommend that you contact your dealer, trusting that this is a first step to customer satisfaction.

      @@Mybernette When I had questions no phone number was provided nor could I find one on line. I sent an e-mail, which took Bernina over a week to reply. They response was we will have the sewing center contact you nor did they ask what the issue was. I was never contacted by the dealer or did Bernina follow up if the issue was resolved.
      I solved the issue myself.

      Hi Diane, in the bernette videos we do not use spoken language, instead we use subtitles, which are available in different languages. The subtitles can be enabled or disabled in the video settings (bottom right of the video) and you can select the language English for example.

      well rather than music have the nice girl who is running the machines explain everything! I just got this machine and although I got the book I am visual but want the person to actually tell us especially when threading I spent four hours trying to find the little drawer when threading the looper threads I found it now but it would be nice if there is an actual voice there rather than the music. thanks for your speedy reply back its nice to know there is someone looking at our comments

    • @Mybernette
      @Mybernette  Před 5 lety +2

      @@Miss_Melly_D Hi Melanie, thank you for your feedback. We use subtitles instead of voice-over because this makes it possible to stop the video any time and still get the message, even with the speakers turned off (e.g. on mobile devices). Another advantage of the subtitles is that search engines can see captions, which helps our users find the videos they need. Last but not least, subtitles are also better to understand for the hearing impaired. Hope you will understand. Best regards from Switzerland
