  • This is an update to the truck bed liner that I installed for keel protection. The boat has spent about 40 hours in the water and has beached several times in rocky conditions. I will walk you through my thoughts about using this liner and how I feel it performed.

      +T He your welcome I'm sure that if you do this during the summer and let the boat sit in the heat for two days it will cure much faster.

      +Be quiet and fish in oklahoma. perfect weather right now. mine is a 40 year old boat but i have it sanded and taped. going to allow 1/2 inch to wrap around all the side for added sealant and protection. your video was great tho and helped answer some questions i had not thought to ask.

      +T He Cool beans, I am going to be in Tulsa throughout this next week. One recommendation I would make is once you think it is dry let it sit in the sun for one more day. I hit a decent sized rock with the liner today and it just shrugged it off.

    thank you sir for getting back with me so fast! I'm goin to spray probably 80% of my boat. thanks for the videos!

      Any time man, it has held up well, I had to reapply at the 3 year point but only to the parts of the boat that were hitting the trailer rollers under the weight of the boat. I would recommend doing roll on if you are doing that much of the boat, also take your time on the prep, sand and sand some more.

    • @danlafleur2151
      @danlafleur2151 Před 7 lety

      Yes sir. I just started sanding today. When it comes to the bottom of the boat I am goin to sand blast it. I will roll it. It's a bit cheaper because of how much I will need. Lol

    Do you think it will work OK inside the boat on the floor ?

  • @joeyjoe8892
    @joeyjoe8892 Před 4 lety

    and do you have to sand down to bare metal or can you just scuff and wash your bottom really good I really like the way you did this I'm digging it but hey I guess that's what CZcams is for!!!

    I have a 15' flatbottom already bed lined the inside bottom of it, any suggestions on where to do what you did on the bottom? should I just line the first 6' that gets beached?

    • @bequietandfish5794
      @bequietandfish5794  Před 7 lety

      I only did the spots that get beached but if you have a leaky rivet or two it won't hurt to cover them as well.

  • @danlafleur2151
    @danlafleur2151 Před 7 lety

    have you noticed any extra fuel consumption due to a possible drag because of the bed liner on the bottom of the boat?
    I am rebuilding my 1981 gurmman 15 ft semi V. also how much weight do you think it adds to the boat?

    • @bequietandfish5794
      @bequietandfish5794  Před 7 lety +2

      I used less than one pound of actual material. I have not noticed any speed loss and no extra fuel consumption. As far as drag in my setup once the boat is on plane the bedliner is out of the water.

      I have been working late and the sun is still setting early here, I will get the pictures to you soon. The only spot it didn't hold up perfectly is where it contacts the roller. If my keel roller didn't have a sharp angle to it there would be no difference between day one and toady.

    That’s gotta slow your boat down a lot unless your running a prop

  • @engsetters4633
    @engsetters4633 Před 5 lety

    You want your boat to sit in the roller better then that. You're putting alot of psi on the boat.
