I wonder why nobody has pointed out that if Starmer, whilst head of the CPS, did not actually make the decision not to prosecute Jimmy Saville then surely he was informed about it. So if there was no prosecution he must have agreed with it. Or if he was not informed about a prosecution involving someone so well-known to the British public then that shows he was pretty useless at running things and his staff had no respect for him.
Good point; one of the Tory politicians made this point on Politics Today. Most left wing fact checkers state he was not DIRECTLY involved which suggests he was INDIRECTLY involved. An act of omission, not commission.

Today, South Street, Bridport, Dorset, sitting outside Cafe Bean, shooting the breeze with a couple of my equally old buddies. Market days here are Wednesdays and Saturdays. A crocodile walk of about fifteen pre- or infant-school children were carefully guided past us by three adult guides, all of these adults were wearing cloth masks. FFS WHY?

Face masks are worse than useless in places like banks and secure locations, where we need to be able to identify people. Don't forget that people who have to lip read cannot communicate as effectively either. I would call those reasons actively offensive. If we have to wear them for politeness reasons, then how is that any different to women being forced to wear face coverings for religious reasons, which is actually illegal in France?

I knew someone who identified as a cat …….he’s dead now , he fell of the roof while trying to lick his own bum hole.
A supply teacher in the US was dismissed for not referring to a student as a cat.

The really funny thing about Newton is she has insisted upon changing the spelling of her first name to "Africanise" it - she didn't want to use the "western" spelling - hang on a minute love - the Bantu people (where her name originates apparently) didn't have written language 'til we gave it to them! How can there be a Bantu spelling? Nearly as funny as when an Australian academic told people to learn how to speak Aboriginal - not realising of course there are around a thousand distinctive dialects - and of course like SS Africa - no native written forms of their language and no way of expressing maths.

To be fair to epidemiology, as far as I’m aware the models coming out of bodies like SAGE were developed not by epidemiologists but by Mathematical modellers that had very little grasp on the biological context that should have informed their models & so the results were completely unrealistic. Modelling & algorithms have their place, but they’re just tools at the end of the day - if those using them operate/apply them incorrectly, the results have little chance of being accurate.
They need to be tested, validated and recalibrated based on actual outcomes and it’s clear they have not been. A fundamental error which should have been picked up!
