I'm honestly impressed at how well they were able to resist just filling the entire games with references. By doing so they have been able to keep the identities of both games unique.
From all of these references, I feel like it's pretty safe to say that these two franchises exist in the same universe. Meaning, the rhythm heaven franchise also exists within the Mario universe.
Nah homie I think Mario and WarioWare are separate universes but Mario exists in WarioWares universe and Wario exists in Mario's universe

There's another reference in Rhythm Tengoku. One of the results screens of the Quiz Show stages shows a city and a bridge, which looks almost identical to a shot from Dribble & Spitz's intro in WarioWare Inc.

Even though there hasn’t been a Rhythm Heaven game in ages, it makes me happy that the devs clearly adore the series just as much as the fans do. This gives me hope for a new game, and even if it never happens, just seeing the references makes me smile.
I didn't know Warioware had references as early as Smooth Moves. The only game was Tengoku at the time

Most of the people watching this video fail to realize that at 0:57 the video was slowed down specifically to show the chorus kids. This is because the creator of the video figured it would be a given who they were, which is evident by the obscene amount of people commenting “oH yOu FoRgOt To MeNtIoN tHe ChOrUs KiDs At 0:57 🤓” and also literally calling them by name. Not everything needs to be spelled out for you on a silver platter.
However, I can’t forgive the creator for missing the Rhythm Tweezers onion plush at 4:15.
