Blizzard never said they were changing them to begin with, only updating the quality to HD... What ever made out think they were going to be different?
I really wish all of the cinematics had beed redone. The intro cinematic from 2018 looks so good. Illidan's horns look like they don't even have a bump map on them. At the time this was rendered that was fine, but it sticks out so much now...
Because at no point were they gonna touch the CGI cinematics other than the opening intro they said that already way back in 2018 when this was announced...plus there is nothing wrong how Illidan looks here, I mean tell me one reason why he should look any different when TFT takes place MANY years before any of WoWs events?
Argh! I at least expect this one to be remastered like the intro cinematic, since this is the intro to the EXPANSION of Warcraft 3. But blizzard couldn’t be bothered here either.

So get this: in blizzcon 2018 when they revealed w3 reforged, they promised some new features for the remaster, one being upgrade cinematics and 4 hours of brand new in game cutscenes that would show a new angle to the story and dialogue of the characters. During blizzcon 2019, they walked back the cinematics promised and claimed only the opening was remastered while the old cinematics would only be upscale and polished, but said nothing about the in game cutscenes, hell, a trailer which showed the dialogue between arthas and other before the purge of stratholme showed a nice looking cutscene. But many who played the game today can see the cutscene is exactly as it was in classic Warcraft 3, with only a few different camera angles. So yeah, along with no limit for unit selection, brand new UI, custom games now being all owned by blizzard automatically, no outside custom mods due to copyright (like dbz all stars, anime wars, etc), no ladder matches, no key re-binding, connection issues when joined customs games or random matches, I can say blizzard screwed this remaster hard. And now I’m going to get a refund for this insult of a remaster.
The UI; In-Game Cutscenes and Lore Change/Retcons were all set crystally clear to not be included by November (a lot of the latter info was told way earlier than that, too). A lot of the core/hardcore WC3 community really hammed about these changes from '18 ~ Blizzcon's Gameplay. A lot of this information trickled out beforehand, but people were so adamant to ignore it; the Hong Kong situation also trumped the Blizz news spotlight - but it was honestly just down to ignorance. There was communication there; people just had this strange obsession of ignoring what they said and assuming theyre kidding theirselves or something lmao, there was such a large amount of 'through the grapevine' heresay bullshit rumours that just made this weird, bastardised hype train build.
quite glad i didn't pre order this game. . . there's literally nothing new. The model updates are meh imo. Activision just trying to rake in money on blizzards previous glory, this is the truth.
