Letter of James (brother of Jesus) also stated that salvation is through faith and work. It was Saul (Paul), who was never with Jesus (pbuh) but rather persecuting followers of Jesus (pbuh) corrupted the faith and formed a new religion. Today's Christians aren't following the teachings of Jesus (pbuh) but rather the Roman Jew Paul.

God who is above all these things, he was right in the beginning and he is in the end, therefore would be unchanging in belief and doctrine.
A big hint for all you "works based" believers, you are doing what is "good moral majority" based on your indoctrination from your current constantly changing governments, educational institutions, media influenced, and local customs based taboos. A good example of this recent fluid works based morality is the false beliefs in gender fluidity claiming all who aren't for it are evil, when the one God made two sexes and obviously had a plan and role for each of those born into it, not some delusion that allows the mentally and spiritually ill to transgress and make false claims of being something they aren't. Truth, morality (the way), and light (knowledge) are Christ, he is not ambiguous, doesn't change from time to time, and his belief isn't based on the agreement of an immoral majority. Past supposed perversion sins are tomorrow's supposed virtues, only the deluded can believe this false doctrine of calling "good" evil and calling "evil" good.
Christ's way is a one way street, he's the right way (past, present, and future all unchanged), and any other direction is a misdirection. Christians never claimed to be perfect therefore we have the perspective to understand that man can't determine nor judge others without the gift of the Holy Spirit, but it's pure deluded hubris if you believe otherwise. Please Alux.com don't categorize us Christians with your delusions, we agree we're all sinners, but we don't believe we will receive salvation by our own efforts, it took the blood from the only begotten Son of God to wash away our sins, bless his Holy name Yeshua. Yeshua can save anyone who will be humble enough to understand it took a divine being to take our punishment for us to atone for all our sins, no amount of "good" deeds created or believed by man can do it (after all many so called "good" human ideals and deeds support horrible atrocities and it keeps changing over time), only by Christ's divinity does it happen.

It makes sense that you can spend your whole life study just one book because unlike any other literature you find new things and learn new things every time you read it actually pretty amazing and there are some just practical things that just makes sense to do and you will have a better life.
