The JRPG Iceberg Explained (Tier I & II)

- There was no JRPG iceberg video on youtube, which I found strange.
Why don't I make one?
This is the first video in a series.
As we go deeper down the iceberg, I will start going more in depth on the different games and franchises. I didn't feel it necessary to give detailed descriptions of each franchise's history in the first two tiers, as they're all incredibly popular and well known.
This iceberg was created in 2020 by u/AshleyWinchesters on reddit.

Love the quality. I've seen some iceberg videos where people just try and talk too fast and trip over themselves a lot. But this is great, I will certainly be checking out the other ones.

should have dug into the hamtaro games or demi kids games. also you mention chrono trigger with no mention of chrono cross or radical dreamers. good on you mentioning suikoden, xenogearsa, and breath of fire in the next part.

I had no clue there were Hamtaro RPGs, but I am actually planning on making a DemiKids video in the future haha. Been wanting to for a while, but I gotta make time to play the games
I only ever played AliceSoft JRPGs. Those fall on Tier 7. Maybe I am missing out.

TWEWY - game for 3 or even 4 tier. There is games and series like Xenogears Chrono Cross, Front Mission and Breath of Fire who have more fame. Author from reddit include this just because it's recent. if it will be 2017 it will be lower because game forgootten and don't have tier 2 fame in ds time either
Yeah, there are some placements that I disagree with. I think it partially has to do with the fact that the iceberg post itself is 4 years old at this point.
But those other games you mentioned do get covered in the later tiers. I just uploaded tier 3 last night and it includes Xenogears and Breath of Fire.

Chrono Trigger is not Tier II. It is S tier along with FF7
The tier rankings aren't based on how good the games are
The popular and most known ones are toward the beginning with lesser known ones toward the bottom
@@diggitydarren Well then that just doesn't make any sense then, because "Mario and Luigi" is way less well known than Chrono Trigger, which many people consider the greatest game ever made.
@@sarakajira the games in the tiers are all grouped together. It's to say that they're all equal to each other in how well known they are.
Besides I didn't make the actual list I'm just making the video lol
