I always come back to this video series when I want to organize something... Really motivates me for some reason lol :)
I'm loving the 2015/2016 version of Christine (so zen!) But gosh these videos are fun to watch!
Great question! I tried decluttering and slowing down on makeup purchases a year ago but I didn't go about it right and slipped right back into consumerism again. I should have looked for inspiration on minimalist blogs and associated with people doing the same thing, support makes a difference. I finally reached a point where I feel absolutely sick and pissed off at myself for how selfish I've been throwing money away, collecting more than I can ever use. The light bulb was like a supernova! ;D
I still find myself coming back to these videos whenever I need a kick in the butt to declutter and let go of items! This series has taught be a lot about being more organized and learning what I need vs what I want!
Watching this again in 2019. These declutter videos made me subscribea long time ago and it´s very interesting to see what changed.
You have made SO much progress since this first series, and I still love your declutter videos as much as when you first started! Always an inspiring thing for me to go re-watch!
its so cool to see how her style has changed from then to now
You are so generous and practical with your habits. I love how you clean out and get rid of things you don't use by giving them to those who are in need. Because really, most of us are guilty of having far more than we really need. I find doing this feels really cleansing to not only my space, but my soul. x
I love your thought process on your organizing and how you aren't making excuses for yourself or trying to find a way to keep the things around that you really don't need. It is amazing that you are donating all of that stuff. Not enough people donate. Most people seem like they just don't want to take the time. They would rather just throw it away than let someone else have it. You are such an inspiration. Absolutely LOVE these kinds of videos.
I love this series you've done! Thank you for being an inspiration to us; it's really heart warming that you firmly believe less is more when all you see on youtube is, as you said, constant consumerism!
These videos couldn't have come at a better time. My boyfriend & I recently downsized from a 2-bedroom apartment to a studio apartment to save money. I was feeling so overwhelmed with the move and lack of space, but I took your advice "less stuff, less stress". I'm donating 3 huge bags of things and just threw away an entire bag of stuff I didn't need. Thanks so much! :) Hope the women at the shelter enjoy their goodies!
You're such a humble person!
I love declutteringing too. It feels great! Good job. Loved this series.
Absolutely in love with that little candle holder!!
Thanks, Christine for this very inspiring video. Your purses collection reminded me of my purse collection eight years ago, I used to own 15 different brands, different colors, then as I graduated from high school and moved into adulthood. I went through my two closets, my sister helped me tag the bins: Donate, Yard Sale and Keep. So glad I did... now looking into my closet right now after seeing your videos I'm sure I need to declutter again. It will be fun! I love doing yard sales and cleaning out my apartment. Repainting the walls, move out furniturte I don't need. Thanks for showing us CZcamsrs your journey!
I recently got rid of a box of magazines. I just ripped out the pages I was actually interested in (like recipes and stuff) and put them in a page protector. Kept maybe two magazines worth of pages from several years of back-issues that had been shoved in a closet and ignored.
Tazzie I really like your clue about the magazined I am going to do this
Oh, awesome. Glad it was helpful :)
My family is so glad I'm watching and getting inspired to de-clutter! Good job!!
LOL. "The pigs are just gonna have to deal." I love watching your videos. Thanks for posting.
You are doing such a amazing job with both purging and organizing! In love with your nail polish drawer now. It is pure eye candy :) Thanks for sharing.
Wow, you have come a long way! I'm watching this after watching your recent 2015 videos (was interested in how it all started), and what a difference! You really are an inspiration!
Haha! That's EXACTLY what I'm doing too!
Same here :) What a difference!!!
+Maria Thompson Me too!
I’m a little late to the party but me too!
Oh Christine, been your subscriber for a couple years now... rewatching your Declutter series here. How far you've come!!! And I'm still hovering around this stage :'(
Film it!
I admire you for getting to this point and letting go. Since starting with YT 2-3 yrs ago I was consumed with running out & purchasing everything that looked good on everyone else (always been one to "try" anything new, but never 2 this extent), basically using these things once & "filing" them in the back of the drawer - finally realized it was just wrong for me - now make "wish lists" & after waiting for a period of time if the desire is still there I will purch.Great vids Christine - thanks!!
Christine, you can't imagine how much help and great advice you gave me!! I have much make up clutter, paper clutter etc. Thank you so much and many blessings to you dear!!
I love how you really taking charge of it. I tried to help my aunt purge. She only threw away one box. I am really loving this series I love how you are using what you already own.
I'm loving this series. Now I'm cleaning out & it feels great.
Great organization Christine! I agree about less stuff... I am always so tempted to buy new or more when I really don't need it. You are an inspiration!
So I'm watching this video for probably the 3rd time ever, and I'm just in awe of the complete 180 you have made in 5-6 years. INSPIRATIONAL, you're the best!
"the pigs are just gonna have to deal" :D hilarious!
seriously you inspire me to keep my room simple and clean I love decluttering now, I have sooo amny things on my bookshelf that is not needed I think I might declutter it tonight!
I'm so enjoying these videos. I've been decluttering along with you. Doing this over a series has meant the motivation to declutter has kept going and I'm feeling better about my own nail polish collection, bathroom drawers and closet. Thank you Christine! You're setting a great example. xo
You've totally given me the bug Christine! I've been de-cluttering my room and getting rid of & donating things that I have no use for as well. Its like a weight is lifted when you clean out your stash.
These videos are so fantastic! I just watched part 1, part 2 and now part 3. I look forward to watching part 4 tomorrow! THANK YOU!
You are really good a organising and I love your idea of pulling everything out and then just putting back the things you need + giving things away! I admire your generous spirit! I love how you made themes for each draw like hair brushes, hair tools, spa draw, nail polishes etc. I have way too many nail polishes too! We just keep searching for that perfect color.
Thanks Pink I'm so motivated to get organized now. Love the way you decorate! And I really admire you donating so much--Good things always come back to us. Take care!
LOL Thank you!! I'm having a blast with this, more videos to come! :D
It is so refreshing to see someone who de-clutters as well as me, GREAT video!
I'm loving this series! I haven't been able to be on CZcams much lately due to medical problems with my Mom and Hubby but I had a few mins. tonight and had to watch this. I love what you are doing, so different from everyone else. I've been trying to do the same. Love your spa drawer with all your natural stuff. I've already told you how much I love the natural oils and herbs. You are doing so good!
Peg~
Yay!! I'm so glad, we can do this together!
You are such an inspiration. I don't have a lot of stuff but you inspired me to make sure I won't start collecting stuff. It is so easy to get all excited about new stuff and things you see in hauls but I don't need them and as a student I definitely don't have the money for it. Amazing that you give all those things away! I am sure you made their day (and gave us something to think about). Keep making videos, ur amazing :)
I absolutely love this series you are doing!! Got all excited when I saw you put up Part 3. Thank you so much for taking the time to make them for us. Very inspirational! Take care, Sharon
Insanity. Unless you're a professional makeup artist, there's no need. Definite overkill. Ijs. Love your channel.
I bought some acrylic polish holders on ebay. They hold about 90-99 polishes. You can attach them to your wall. I really love it and it displays all of my polishes nicely. Great job Christine! xoxo Kelly
One thing i want to start doing is for every clothing item i buy, i donate an item. so if i buy a shirt i would donate a shirt that i don't get use out of that someone else would.
I've seen 3 videos and I already love you!
I think I might spend this whole day sitting here cleaning out my stuff, and watching your videos. You're amazing!!!
Thank you Vicki!!! Oh the vitamin C serum video will be coming very soon.
You are so inspiring!! I just love you watch all your videos!!! Thanks for being on you tube!!!
Love this series I don't want it to end :) I am so inspired to get into my vanity and closet and do some purging. Love it.
This is 3 years late, but the actress is Jean Harlow. She died in her early 20s.
why did she die??
+Maria Christina She went into renal failure.
After watching these videos I got motivated and got rid of 8 bags of stuff from one small little room!
I'm so glad you are donating things to a woman's shelter. What an awesome idea. I personally don't like the giveaways and this is something I would definitely do as well. Great job on this series .....I am loving it. I declutter a couple of times a year and it feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders :-)
Funnily enough I have started a huge decluttering session myself a few weeks again but it's so nice to see other people go through stuff and be strong. I have done clothes, makeup, books and kitchen stuff so far
I adore these videos!! They're really an amazing idea! It's definitely inspiring me to go through all my stuff and purge. It's daunting just thinking about it!
ur so lucky to have those drawers on ur vanity in ur bathroom. my vanity in my bath has NOT one single drawer so its a hard place to store stuff like hair tools, brushes, makeup, etc. i LOVE ur bathroom...absolutely vintage and gorgeous. also...ur videos r something i look forward to because they inspire me to go through my stuff and clean out too. i agree with u that simple is better. please post more videos like these again soon. i love them!
Girl! I'm so glad you've evolved! Whew!! I'm motivated again now too! LOL!! You've come a long way baby!! I love it!!! I'm going home to de-clutter yet AGAIN! it really is an on-going project! Really!! Thanks for your recent videos!! I love them!!
Wow! I'm impressed by your organization! This inspires me to go through my closets and stuff-Thanks!
The handbags are a struggle for me too. I've given a bunch away (ones I didn't spend a whole lot on). Now the ones that I have spent more on we shall see. Going to try and see if I can sell them. If they don't sell then I contemplate on giving them away. Nice progress!
You are so funny throwing the little "feather duster" over your shoulder !
Your handbag collection is great -- just a few really good ones. I just donated about 25-30 practically new and some never worn out of my enormous collection (ridiculous - right?). I sent them to Egypt with my husband on a visit to his family and he gave them away to all our nieces and sisters and friends. They were sooooooo happy and it made me feel so good that someone was going to enjoy them. Plus, I got to purge!!! Keep it up -- love you, L
I am loving these videos!!! You have inspired me to go through my own things and make this less stressful in my life as well. I am finding these that I bought and never used and I found a local women's Shelter here in my town I am going to donate things to as well. Thank you so much for these videos!!!'
I am so very proud of you!! I too am working on getting rid of "stuff".
I'm very impressed, thanks for allowing us to follow you in this possitive and wonderful journey of yours. This are the most and original videos that I have watch in a long time and I love makeup and tutorials but this are truly inspirational and motivating......thanks
Jean Harlow, is the name of the starlet in the picture. Once again you have inspired me to clean out my make-up drawers. Every time I watch you I get inspired to arrange something, clean out drawers or make a DIY project. You are like taking a drug for decorating and organizing. HA HA God help me I can't stop organizing. Any way my space looks a lot better. Thanks for the inspiration.
i've watched these series more times than i am proud of... they really inspire me to declutter and i did this summer :D i donated a lot of my makeup, and gave loads to my sisters too :)
This was so motivating, i decluttered my room & took 2 big trash bag of boxes & little knick knacks that i didn't even know i had soo thank u for the motivation:)
Where on earth do you get the money to buy all this stuff? I can't even afford Covergirl!
She.bought.them.overtime.She.also.doesnt.have.any.children.and.is.only.renting.her.house.
Thanks for giving me the nudge to weed out my beauty products. I agree with everything you said in all three declutter videos! I'll probably try to give my products to a teenager as we do not have a woman's center in my small town. Some lucky girl will be very happy to have all of my unwanted things. I gain so much from your videos. Thanks from the Columbia River Gorge!
Ive been subscribed for a while and you've always been a fave but I'm especially happy to see this series. I absolutely love the CZcams beauty community but I never buy out of control, only what I can use and in the back of my mind I always worried at the consumeristic message of it all.... great to see someone enjoying make up while showing restraint. Admirable :)
These videos are really encouraging me to organize my stuff, thank you for making these!
Yay!! Aloha my island Sista! So awesome to find another CZcamsr on Maui!! Yeah Maui Enchantress is where I go. I hope she makes it forever, it's all I ever want to wear anymore lol.
You truly are inspirational. I'm a self confessed hoarder of makeup and anything cute.. and now it's like I've caught a bug. I'm doing a huge clean out of my house :) thanks for spreading this way of thinking x
Am I the only one who woke up today eagerly looking forward to Part 3?! :D
I thought I would share a tip since you showed the organizer and then your purses. I actually store my bags in the organizer as well as folded accessories. I find it works pretty well because I can see my bags and scarves/gloves/hats and I can randomly move it around in my closet when I switch seasons. :)
To be completely honest, I can't believe that I've watched 3 videos on decluttering!! lol!! But your videos are pretty fun and I'm in the same boat ( I just declutered even though I organized everything, I feel like I need to do it again since my closet is a little too tight.)
I really love that youre doing this video. Youre such a good influence on me. ♡
Yo've inspired me to clean up my office/makeup room. It has also made me realize that I have too much and I need to be happy with less. One huge box full of toiletries, makeup and hair accessories is going to our local women's shelter. My husband thanks you profusely.
Thank you so much for doing this series!!! It has inspired me to start doing the same!! Please keep making these!! :)
Loving watching these. You're hilarious & I can totally relate.
No trust me, this is Good! Letting go of excess needs to be done. The throwing money away part already happened, every time I made the mistake of buying more makeup. If I was to keep everything, I would be wasting the products because I can't use it all up before it expires. Giving to others who have nothing and ending the shopping madness is a good thing.
They make these really cool spice drawer inserts that the nail polish drawer could use perfectly!
Love these videos, they are great! My favorite part is when you donated your excess stuff.
I've spent the whole day tidying/rationalising my make up. I have allowed myself one large drawer for make up..NO MORE!! Its now a one in one out policy!! lol I can now see everything and will now use everything. I hardly used half of it before...it was hidden...so what was the point!! Thx Christine...you definitely inspired me xx
These videos have made me ego the exact same thing!! I had zero energy to clean up all my Makeup stuff but now i'm ready!
So much make up and so many identical. Less shopping might help. You are utterly brilliant to give it away 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Love, love, love your videos!!!
Love these! So inspirational!
I love your no bullshit attitude in this series of videos! Keep up the good work! xx
Love the vids! You're so generous, sweet and (obviously) organized! :D
Yes!! That's the name, thank you!
Haha yep, everyone is correct! I've done a couple videos Mitzi and Gwendolyn (aka the cat and moose) or guinea pigs. :)
you are fortunate to have so much storage in your vanity area. the downside of having all that room is we tend to accumulate stuff :) I agree with you completely about the NYX glosses; I hate the scent, too.
OMG I love this series you started lately. Everyday I'm waiting for a new video to watch. I'm very impressed and inspired by You :) Hugs and kisses from cold Norway
I LOVE this series.
I have been wanting to do something like this but need the help / motivation from outside source to begin this project. Thank you for sharing.
"LOL I didn't used to have this much lipgloss they must've all bred" HA HA HA..... LAUGHING SO HARD! LOVING THIS series too. I'm almost done with our closet. I'm thinking of hitting the garage next! Then MAYBE we can actually park our car in there!!! You can park 1... but it's a 2 car garage... this has been INSPIRATIONAL!!!! Reality check!!! Yay Christine!
wow.. im inspired to clean out stuff. And you have my purse. . cant wait to watch more of your videos.
so far I like the nail polish drawer the best ;) u have an eye for just the right colors!!
awesome set of videos.. I love how you organised your makeup brushes in the glasses. What did you use in the bottom? Are they beads?
i love these!! if you made 100 parts id still be watching!
I love these videos. You go girl!
Hello Christine, I was planning on popping into my department store to pick up Burberry eye shadows this weekend, I happened to stumble upon this video, I am glad I did. This video made me stop and think, I have more than enough makeup. Makeup I need to get use out of, not purchase more and more. I have streamline my work clothing and shoe wardrobe to essentials. I plan on doing the same with make up, starting now.
These videos have been inspiring! Getting rid of perfectly good stuff is OKAY! I need to remember that. If I don't need it, don't love it, won't use it.... I need to get rid of it!
