Every few months I come back and watch this series of declutter vlogs, it's really calming to watch. I'm currently in a declutter at the minute and this definitely helps!!
very calming to watch! No crazy electric music, just your calm voice and your thoughts about the whole process. Very good quality vid. Thank you!!!
Oh.My.Goodness. I LOVE this series!!!! You are such an awesome "de-clutter-er "!!! You actually declutter instead of getting rid of 4 or 5 products and saying how hard it is for you to get rid of anything.... That is so frustrating to watch on other YT channels 😉
I know these are very old, however it's still motivational and encouraging to those of us who still struggle in this area!
And I love your comments about consumerism and how out of hand it is!!!😘
I'll still have my natural skincare ingredients to show, since I use those up often. But I'm going to be very strict with myself regarding all future purchases, that goes not only for makeup but everything else as well. For Make Out 2013, I'm allowing myself 10 makeup purchases total, that includes if I run out of something that I "need" to repurchase. 2013 is going to be boot camp for me, a lifestyle makeover. I think it will be just as entertaining as hauls. ;)
I've been watching you all morning and I wanna thank you for inspiring me to get off my butt. I even told my husband about your channel. I love your creativity and your home decor ideas. I love your channel. Thanks for sharing 💕 Hugs from Orlando, F🌴☀️rida
I agree! Thank you!! Yeah, you know I was trying to keep those cupcakes lol. But I stopped, thought about it and realized nope I don't actually "need" these after all. Then I got Michael in there to make the final decision. So helpful they are! :)
when I saw this series a few months ago, I thought it would be so stupid to watch someone declutter make up! "why did she even film this?" I thought... but I'm here now and I'm a little sad that there is just 1 more video left... it was so nice and calming...
I'm watching your Less Stuff, Less Stress videos and just wanted to say "Heck yeah!".
I've always steered towards minimalist living but a year ago I moved across the country to be with my then bf/now fiancé and I had to do the same thing because whatever was coming with me had to fit in my car. I had tried to do a deep de-clutter before then but never really got to where I wanted to be regarding the items that are a part of my life. It was kind of an amazing experience for me. Having the size of my car as a restriction for what I was keeping definitely helped with the process.
Also, I am totally the same way in regards to a cluttered surface stressing me out. I'm all about the clean surfaces and also knowing what's in my drawers.
Really like, your videos, thanks for sharing!
I really like this video-serie! It's so motiovational. I have always been very bad to give my stuff away, but i progress all time. It's just stuff. Your videos help me and inspired me, thank you for this serie ♥
I truly mourned cup cake collection :( They were so cute! Anyway Chris! Thank you a thousand times for those videos and for you being you! Because of you I started a huuuuuge decluttering project and man, I am still going! Thank you for inspiration :)
"cluttered space, cluttered mind" -the motto I live by ;) great series!!
No don't let it break! There is a new love in town... it's weightless, refreshing, clean, space. Where my heart can breathe deeply and be free.
A waste of money is when you find a ton of makeup like I did that I can't even give away anymore. I bought it and some I have had for years. That is what happens when you don't get rid of things once you know you don't like them and they rot in your drawers. Make up is usually a trial and error thing anyhow. I have bought makeup that I thought I loved for sure and then it turned a bad color on me or whatever. Chris is doing the best thing and doing it before it is a true waste of money. :D
Had to watch this series again 'cause it's so motivating!!!
Also, am I the only dirty bird?
Glad I got to watch these videos! They've remotivated me. I don't have a huge amount of stuff, but I could feel myself wanting to buy, buy, buy... so I'm doing a no-buy for the whole year (unless I use up essentials, like all my mascara or all my foundation) to use stuff up and hopefully break that rut of constantly buying to feel happy. You're so awesome!
I'm not ready to declutter to the extent you are, but you have really inspired me to "shop my stash" and use up what I have - I haven't bought a single item of makeup since you started this series! Thank you so much.
You are so right about the stress and clutter. Once I get started clearing things away, I feel better. Keep going, I'm decluttering with you.
You are such a great person.
Vicki
Been watching these videos since part 1.....will watch all tonight. inspiring me because tomorrow I am going to clean up the house. I moved back home from an apartment and brought all my junk with me. Awesome that you gave stuff to the women's shelter. We give stuff to my mom's church homeless shelter.
I love this series. After each video so far i've ended up tidying out some area of my house. The videos have been my much needed inspiration! Thank you!
Exactly!! I totally agree! When I first started collecting makeup about 5 years ago, it was all a learning process, how to apply it, what works best on your skin tone/type, what makes a product good or not, you find your personal makeup taste and finally... you reach a point where you've tried so many products, you know exactly what you like and what to stick with. I finally reached that point. All the testing and exploring is no longer necessary. Thank goodness!! ;D
I am loving that you are doing this! I do this all the time for the whole house. It is amazing what we hold onto and then it ends up cluttering up our lives.
I have watched every part today! You have inspired me so much! I'm now studying for my exams, but today when I took a break, I just felt like cleaning my room! I'm planning to do 'one' corner a day. And that's all thanks to you, so thank you for making these vids! I loved watching them.
I can remember when you purchased most of this stuff, buying, painting and putting the bling on your candle holders, the feathers in the vases, etc. At that time I was thinking....OMGosh! Now you are getting rid of it or giving it away. I am proud of you and you are such an inspiration for me to start cleaning out the clutter and all the make up I have purchased since watching CZcams. I love what you are doing and love the "make out". Great Videos!!
Knowing shelters take used products makes getting rid of my stuff so much easier! I didn't know that before, so thank you!! I absolutely LOVE your organization videos! :)
I love the Desert Essence coconut shampoo/conditioner, been using it for several months now. Give it a try! :)
I even started planning out purchases. It was horrible. On Friday, 10/26 I woke up thinking...that's it! NO MORE. I started with my kids closet, moved to mines, and now am on my bathroom closet (where all my make up is). It's liberating!!! AND I LOVE IT!!! Thanks Christine for giving You Tube a much needed reality check!
I agree! In fact, just last night I used up another skincare product that was almost gone. Got a couple more to finish and then I can go back to my oils. :D
I wish you had't deleted the old project minimalist videos! haha I loved watching them and I continued to watch them over and over and over because they're so helpful! And it would be cool to go back and see just how much you've really cleaned your collection out from a few years ago!
I have been watching each installment of this series as you post them and I absolutely love them. I've only recently become sucked in to the CZcams beauty community (started watching regularly in July) and I've been spending crazy amounts of money on stuff I've seen in videos. It's do refreshing to see someone say "I have what I need and what I like-- enough already." I will definitely be on board with Make Out 2013!
I am loving these videos. You have really inspired me to go through my collection of stuff & weed out what I don't use or like anymore. Thanks for sharing this journey with us!
Aww, Thank you!! LOL, "dress up as Pink So Foxy!" I LOVE that!! Thank you for all of your wonderful comments and support!! ((Huge Hugs))
I love these videos so much!!! Just what I need to get motivated to do another purge this year! Thank you!! You have helped me so much!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I know this series is very old but I find it so inspirational. I am so glad I found your channel! Your natural, vegan, minimal lifestyle seems so freeing, I definitely want to work towards that. I am already vegan but feel as if I can do better. Thank you for the push!
Even though these videos are really long and I usually get bored quickly, these videos are so easy to watch and go by really quickly! I think it's great what you're doing and so generous for you to donate so much (:
"Annoying the hell out of me." LOL I even think I remember when you bought the feathers and cupcakes!
I had loved all the parts of this decuttering series and I am spending the day organizing my makeup!
Love all your declutter videos ! I am looking forward to many more! They really are helping me look at all my stuff different!
Just watched these for the first time and they’ve had me going, “Oh, god!”, “Ahhhh!” and “hahahahaha😂” in equal measure. Fascinating!
You have really inspired me to just de-clutter my room! These de-clutter videos are amazing, thank you so much for posting. Love from England!
Yep, as soon as I have 6 empties for them. Although I did donate a couple of mineralize eyeshadows to the girls at the shelter.
When u started putting the declutter/organization videos up it inspired me to do videos like that
I love these videos so much! You could make them forever and they wouldn't get old. Thanks for inspiring me! Xoxo
Oh it was a promo from Sephora, they had it stuffed full of samples, you just used a code at checkout online. It was last year but they always seem to have some cool promo going on. :)
Oh I like the 6 bottles or less rule! I hear you, it takes forever to go through a single bottle, makes me wonder why on earth I was always buying the largest size lol.
This is the 3rd time i have watched this series! You are my hero. I've really been buggy about shopping lately and I needed some encouragement. So i watch this series of you editing your life. i love it and it keeps me in check. thank you so much for making such an effort to video and share all your hard work. k.
i really love that little container you had for your lip liners and glosses..its just perfect for that!
Thank you!! Yes, that's the method I use. Or if you have a spray bottle, you can mist the product and wipe it clean. :)
I love this series. I've gotten way too materialistic since I started watching beauty gurus. It needs to stop, and this is very motivating!
Again I have to say "hats of to you". I used to ONLY use department store brands, mainly MAC. After getting married and having 4 children my makeup obsession naturally took a back seat. In 2010 I started to get back into makeup because of the Hauls, tutorials and the giveaways. Over the last two years I've developed this "I need it since it's affordable and from the drugstore" mantra. In the last two months I began feeling stressed that I didn't have a BB cream or NYX this or Revlon that.
Watching your Declutter Vlogs are making me really realize how much stuff i have and keep onto which i really don't need. Going to be doing some cleaning the next few days. :)
I a, addicted to these videos. So glad this one is up right when I need it!
OMG, so glad your keeping your clarisonic....I was saying out loud when you were debating keep or not, " KEEP". I have a cheap version of that face machine and love it. I've always had skin problems and found out that any version of those machines do work. I use good ole Ivory soap with my skin machine & I break open a vitamin E tablet for moisturizer at my night routine. How's that for basic. I find it helps with scaring plus I was diagnosed last year with Sjogrens/ lupus.
HOLY HANNAH, she's letting go of the cupcakes! Jaw dropping! I need to hear more about the exact moment of this epiphany.
I love this series! You totally inspired me to go through my collection, and I just got rid of a big bag of stuff; I feel so much better now. Thank you for doing this!!
Haha I love it! Oh my favorite fragrance is Bootzie Oil, from Maui Enchantress . com :)
I so need to make out for 2013. I spent way too much this year on make up! Hundreds and hundreds of dollars and I just cant get enough! Thanks for inspiring me! I'm doing this with my cloths and then I'm moving on to my make up. It is somewhat painful to let go of things but someone out there is more deserving! Well done angel!
Haha, no I understand! Not to worry though, I have a never ending list of videos to do and I think this will be even more interesting because for Make Out 2013, I have an allowance of 10 makeup items for the year. So it'll be fun to see what each allowance gets used on. ;D
CHRISTINE,It looks so much better with less stuff, much better when its not so themed with too much cupcakes.Much more sofisticated looking with less nick nacks!Love your bathroom by the way!!Hugs all the way from oregon!
I love your series!!! Keep them coming lol.... But seriously what you are doing is amazing and admirable!!! And very inspiring :)
I AM LOVING THESE VIDEOS!! Just completed a clear out recently and feel like a new person. Keep them coming!! :)
MAC has a program (back 2 MAC) where they recycle their packaging. So when you save up 6 empties, you can take them into MAC and pick out a free lipstick (at counters) or a free lipstick or eyeshadow (at MAC stores). :)
Absolutely right! All the companies are battling to get our money. We're constantly bombarded with ads, commercials, emails... geared to make us think we need the latest this or that, even though we have plenty already. Learning to resist is a lifestyle change for sure!
I love your videos and this series is inspiring to me. Thank you so much for doing it.
Your soooo inspirational, like, I watch your videos, and it gives me new ideas to try, tips and tricks! I love you soo much♥ Dont stop what your doing!
The beginning of this video made me laugh! I watched the whole "less clutter" series so far, and I have to say I am impressed and inspired. Way to go! :-)
That's awesome! I'm so proud of you Kischa!! I'm right there with you, it's so easy to get caught up in the buying frenzy when watching YT. I got sucked into thinking "I need to get that" "I really want this" ugh... it was endless! When would enough be enough? It never was. Before I knew it my mole hill turned into a mountain lol. I had all of this stuff that I could never use up and felt awful. I felt selfish and pissed at myself. Then I decided, now is the time for a lifestyle makeover!! :)
I agree with all the downsizing but, thank goodness you held on to the Clairasonic! I really believe you would regret that one dear. You're doing such a good job. Everyday I watch one of these videos I go back and work on mine a little more. Such an inspiration you are!
I'm jealous lol! My plan is to use a bunch of these up and get down to just a few most loved. :)
It was called Diamonds, wet shine. The one I loved was Cherries in the snow.
I just did my own version of this in the last few weeks. I've been pretty regular with sorting and gifting makeup to friends but I recognize in watching your video series I also have the tendency to talk myself back into keeping something if Im on the fence about it so I'm going to do another sort. Congrats BTW!
You are so inspiring! Your husband is very supportive! Thank you for these videos
u r such a wonderful person for doing this! its so inspiring that it makes me what to do this!
Don't let negative comments get to you. Each person has to decide for themselves what they will keep and what they won't. For whatever it's worth you have my complete support. I do stuff like this ever so often to clean out and pare down stuff. I just have to do it more often and I need to tackle my closet now. :)
LOOOOVE these videos! I was so excited to see this was up :) you are doing great!
Hey Love where did you get that lip stick holder??
Omg..this is getting better and better and at the same time I was screaming while I am watching..lol specially when you get rid of that vase with sea shells and candle I think it was so cute and adorable I like those stuff its my theme in my little apartment..I don't have much but enough to remind me of Hawaii:) Thanks for these great video and those women in shelter will be so happy that there is person like you that share...btw the more you give the more blessing you will receive...Aloha!
Haha no, I've just worked full time for the past 16 years, there was even a time when I worked 3 jobs just to make ends meet. These days, both Michael and I are full time jewelry designers (7 years now). We're not millionaires in money... but we love what we do and getting to work with your best friend everyday is such a blast, you feel like a millionaire. As for the makeup, that was a passion gone wild lol, which resulted in collecting too much, I don't recommend it. ;)
Good job Christine! Your area is so sleek now even though you had to part w/ your cupcake collection. That kinda frees me up to be able to part with things I've collected and loved now. Thanks! BTW, I waved to you as I flew over Maui to the Big Island on our vacation. Thought of you lots. Love, Susan
Thanks for this series!! I started going through my samples and some of my makeup today and I already have two bags ready to go to a local women's shelter.
Loving these!! Keep going girl you are motivating me big time to get rid of my stuff! Makeup is last for me because its so painful! You are doing amazingly!
Please keep these videos up. Its really helpful to listen to this while im trying to rid myself of stuff.
I'm so glad you did these! Im moving soon and wanted to clean out everything but didn't know what to do with it all besides the clothing so I'm looking for a local women's/teen shelter for all my VS lotions and perfumes!
No lie. I could not WAIT for this! Lol so excited
I just recently purged ALL of my makeup (had a collection the same or bigger that yours) because not only was a basically wearing one two looks (formal and everyday) but I replaced them all with EWG approved makeup. I feels so good!!! :D Cool to watch someone else do a little too.
cant say it enough LOVE THIS SERIES
Best series ever!!
I mix two colors on a brush and then apply. It is a good way to get some use for the colors that are not quite right for you.
i cant say i enough, I LOVE these videos!!! thank u
I got done with my clothes 3 wks ago, already done with hair & skin care a month ago, now wkg on makeup, books, perfumes, and shoes. I can't wait to get done purging my place! Still feel like I'm underwater but the end is near. For now I'm like a slave to all this crap, soon to be liberated, soon, soon...
Lol, I love the little sigh you did when you pulled out the lip liners ;-).
After watching all our decluttering videos I cleaned my bathroom drawers out also. I threw out lotions and potions with chemical ingredients. Thank you for the inspiration to live a simpler life!
I wanted to cry when you got rid of Dervish. I love that one. You are ruthless! Good for you.
Yes they do the same in Canada as well. It takes a long time as when I'm near the end of my lipstick, I am scraping it out with a toothpick!!
Imagine all the stuff in all the homes that have been devastated here in Jersey and New York etc. If we think - really think -- about how much stuff we don't actually "need" our lives would be so much better -- less stress for sure. I went through it 2 years ago after we had a fire in our home and had to leave and live somewhere temp for nearly a year. I had only a few items and some clothes with me -- and guess what? I didn't miss a thing. We were thankful we survived.
I love this and it's totally inspiring! I started my cleaning out process as well :) Thanks for the reminder to keep myself and husband in check!! Best of luck!! :)
Christine, keep these videos coming. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thanks for thinking of the east coast...I'm from New Hampshire and love your videos!
I'm so glad I found your channel. Thanks for all the tips on decluttering. :)
