0:56 Okay people. Many seem to ask what's up with that Swastika? And rightfully so. This is not to be confused with the one that Germans used. This is the symbol that Finnish Airfoce used up until 2020 or so. And it's still partially used in some flags etc, but not on the planes etc. It looks very similar to what Nazi Germany used, but it's turned backwards compared to the Nazi one. Finns started to use this symbol before the Nazis. This was the goodluck symbol of Swedish count who donated the first aeroplane to Finlands military in 1918 and that symbol stuck with the Finnish airforces. Also that symbol or similar one has been used in Finland and elsewhere for thousands of years before Nazi-Germany ruined the meaning and the heritage of that symbol. As many might know it originates from India. Many Baltic and Slavic tribes also used similar looking symbols to bring good luck.

I think it’s more practible to sell these to a country that shares borders with Russia. We needed those panzers badly. We got a good deal. Speaking of The Netherlands’ geographical position, on the other hand, is in no immediate danger since it has all areas secured by allies. It doesn’t have to concentrate as immensively to east unlike Finland. Our main goal is to keep watch on Finland-Russia border. We really can’t rely on Swedish help backing up our rear if the attack is coming from the East since Sweden is not formally an ally of Finland, no matter how deepened co-operation Finland does with Sweden, they still lack fresh combat experience unlike Finland which 80 years ago had a devastating war. From 1945 onwards, Finland has been sending a lot of their peacekeepers in conflicted countries.

Second your right the dutch tank force was in fact 1000 tanks in the 80s and early 90s. as they where the first offensive army if the sovjet union would attack . Tanks on dutch soil doesnt realy make sence due to the type of ground , its swampland put 30 to 40 cm of water on it and it turns to butter even a heavy rain would make it imposible to move for a foot soldier. .
Still having a few tanks inreserve cant hurt .
The 59 PZH-2000s including trainers and number of airdefences like the 90+ Prtl cheetah version of gepards on a such a small area of the netherlands and what the naval components bring in artilery and airdfense capabilities , makes it near imposible to mount an atack on the netherlands river delta , below sea level , water defenses etc etc makes it a night mare for any army . It’s even more ironic that during the Second World War when the Germans advanced till the point (Rasputitsa) when heavy rain made the soft ground like a mud. Neither Army could really do anything - not even the Soviets. Early spring and late autumn are seasonal nightmare for an advancing army. First, all snow melts and ground is too softened to carry any mechanical force and the attack stalls. Same in autumns - too much rain.
It’s like Russia should have known for launching an invasion of Ukraine for summer, they attacked too early and the ground is soft for any ground attacks. They didn’t obviously take that into account. The columns were destroyed by Ukrainians and when the tanks tried to invade from fields, these parts became completely muddy.
That’s how Russia is making the whole war completely costly for themselves in terms of losing all best equipment due to mud and columns being cut off and simply annihilated.

Finland and Ukraine are totally different cases. Putin sees Ukraine as a part of Russian empire, but not Finland which is a nordic country with different culture and values that are legacy of the swedish era (it lasted 600 years). (Let's not forget that people of Ukraine are slavic like people in Russia and Finns are not!) Russia is no threat to Finland and vice versa. Finland and Sweden joining Nato would change the situation here in north totally. Tension would rise in a dramatical way. We are still dreaming of the huge russian market for our economy which is closed for the time being. That would be lost forever.

Fighting in boreal forests is no joke. Our troops saved German city boys when winter 1941 settled. They did not dare to lit fires, they just huddled on invidual foxholes, nearing death from freezing cold. Finnish troops sent there grabbed them out from their near death stupor, and made massive fires to warm them up. Going through wilderness in minus 20-30 centigrade aint joke, and troops in warming fires are more ready to fight than enemy freezing themselves stiff in crawling approach, trying to attack. You could say that those who had skill and self confidence, lit fires and kept warm, taunting enemy to try to attack them, if it was cold enough. Germans did not knew that you can safely drink flowing water from streams in northern Finland, its about cleanest water in this planet, and there is no parasites. They had scorching thirst all through first summer, before they knew better. Fighting here is complex matter and demand knowledge. We Finns know all the tricks and secrets.

The World’s Moral And Practical Obligation To Ukraine
In Ukraine, there is both a moral and practical obligation, which transcends the fact of there being no formal obligation from NATO or the EU.
As we know from history, formal obligations crumble in the face of reality when dealing with someone like Putin. I am not complaining so much as I am cautioning the entire world that if it is not willing to nip in the bud the actions of Putin now, we will most certainly be compelled to confront him later. And the effects of that will probably be much worse than the risk of starting a third world war now.
A world that bows to the will of a bully and dictator today, will either become a virtual pawn of that bully and dictator or be forced to fight him later. As we saw with Hitler, because the world was not willing to confront him early on, the ultimate conflagration that resulted was much worse than it might otherwise have been.
Just as a free individual cannot long endure the abuse and domination of a bullying neighbor, so too, the free nations of the world cannot long endure the abuse and dominance of a bully and dictator among them.
Of course, the possibility of nuclear war is paralyzing, and the present fear of that happening is what gives Putin his ultimate edge. He knows this and wants the world to think he might be crazy enough to use nuclear weapons. We need to call his bluff by letting him know that we will even risk nuclear war to save freedom and democracy in the world.
The world not only allowed Putin to exist but did business with him. Now humanity must pay the karmic price for its complicity. And that price may be a third world war, which might even mean nuclear war.
This is a horrifying thought, but reality does not care what is horrifying to humanity. The world we create and the results of that creation are as they are. If we cater to autocrats, we will have to live with autocracy as the way of the world - or we can stop allowing autocrats to evolve and exist in the world.
At the moment, Ukraine is the center of our universe. It is the focal point and pivot point for our future. What we decide to do there will determine the direction we will take to that future and what that future will be. Will it be a world where freedom and democracy become the way of the world for all humankind, or will it be a world where the dream of freedom and democracy is dead, and slavery and autocracy rule?

The Finnish air force got partly rid of the symbol in 2016-2018. But apparently the symbol is still in use in the Air force academy.

Finnish army cant match Chinese toy soldiers in marching. Also Germans laughed at us in summer 1941. Called Finns looking unruly and in poor uniforms. Couple months later Finnish troops went to resque Germans which were dying in their foxholes on empty frozen wilderness. They would not dare lit fires to dry clothes, cook food or warm coffee, drink from streams, nor could ski or maintain their weapons in minus 20-35C. We trained the middle european city boys for years and they did learn. By 1944 they were surprisingly nasty against our 20 year old conscripts (most veterans were demobilized by peace accords).
