EMERY was the one who got out-coached this time … not Ange.
His tactics in trying to stop Spurs ( Udogie ) backfired by making Bailey become a non-factor forcing him to get subbed out.
Ange made them run til they were low on fuel by the end of the first half …. once we scored that first goal, they were not coming back.
We had Bentancur, Dragusin, Werner & Hojbjerg coming off the bench. We are getting closer to having the kinda squad you need to play more than one game a week AND challenge for trophies ..

I love the way he talks about the development of the team being the most important thing. Most of the players are under 25. If he stays and keeps this team together and improving, the results take care of themselves. Every single player today played well. It was an amazing performance, he must be very satisfied. He sees the big picture and I do too. In 3/4 years time, this team will be incredible.

3/4 years? wtf? You know real top tier teams win like 3+ major trophies in that timeframe right? Development is bullshit if you are ALWAYS developing some project that gets scrapped. Modern football does not allow a 10 year project; demands change season to season and a core group that doesn't win in 2-3 years gets jaded, wants to leave, fall off with injuries, age, etc.
These players NEED to win Ange a trophy next season. Otherwise, the same parasitic doom and gloom will take over again. Even if it's a minor trophy like 1 of the domestic cups, next year a trophy MUST be the one and only goal. He even said so himself, he plays to win and be #1. If not, he might as well leave at the end of the season.
@@justahyundai true, but i think your adopting too much of a toxic modern narrative around football. winning things is very hard; especially when you have the likes of liverpool, city, arsenal, utd (who will always be nicking trophies) up there challenging too.
@@justahyundaithe FA Cup is no minor trophy. It is the oldest cup competition in football and certainly to English players and English clubs, it is valued as much as the league title, if not more.
I’m loving what Ange is doing with Tottenham. Maybe next year they can be competing for the title.

Villa fan here - we’ve been pretty poor since Xmas. The games we’ve won have mostly been a struggle.
Had a very good 12 month run but injuries and Europe catching up with us.

Men of the match THFC team, all made significant contributions. Sarr for me stood out and work rate outstanding . VDV was immense until injury, but all subs quality game players.

@Enicthefrauds Have to look at the big picture. Trophys are good, but from where we are right now, the Champions league is so important at this stage of our rebuild. That's what attracts better players to the club to win the Trophys. Bit of a catch 22.
