I can't do MOH's surgery any more. I have had 2 on my nose which is now disfigured and I need reconstruction so I can breathe properly. I had it done on top of my head that's left a scar from the front all the way to the back. The last time I had MOH's was on my inner arm and it was for basal cell. It took 6 weeks to heal and now I have a huge keloid scar. He couldn't close the area because the skin was too thin. Dr.'s are pushing MOH's because of course surgery brings in good $. But a prescription of Imiquimod takes care of my basal cell just fine and those spots have never come back. I've used it for squamous cell as well. I believe in the path of least resistance. Try something less agonizing first and if it doesn't work, then surgery is okay. And if you do have MOH's, go directly to a Plastic Surgeon so he can remove and reconstruct at the same time.

It really depends..I had poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma on my vulvar in 2017... They said they couldn't determine if it was still vin3 or stage one at the time...Had it surgically removed and in July 2023 its in my groin lymph nodes...its a very complicated surgery and no one felt comfortable doing it until they found a surgon who thinks he can. I don't feel comfortable with it. I won't go on...I just wanted to share my experience. I feel doomed. It's February 2024 and in my opinion..it's probably already started growing some where else ..but not seen yet.. Nit trying to be negative. Just realistic. 😶

I had my first diagnosis in 2016 at that time they said melanoma in situ, I had surgery, they removed al my labia, vulvar and part of my urethra. 2017 it came back on the urethra, another surgery. 2023 again surgery, they took more urethra and a good portion around that, that came back as Squamish cell. Prior to this last one, I had a brochoscopy, then 3 weeks later had a thoracoromy they took 9 or so biopsies, the one in my lung was Squamish cell. Then 2 months later a grape size tumor 2as removed off the back of my left knee, 2024 had another "spot" biopsies and then removed from my left arm, at the outer elbow, Squamish cell. Wondering where else it's gonna show up!!!

Can I ask -did you have lichen sclerosis of the vulva first? Many women have LS (intense itching of the vulva is one symptom) and dont know it. If left untreated that can turn into vulgar cancer.

My father has poorly differenciated squamous cancer in his bladder
doctors decided to resect the bladder and relace it with a bag outside the body.
my question is this type of cancer is less life threatening,
i mean , if we resect the bladder is my father will live ?!

squamous cancer is a broad family, and different levels of differenciations lead to wide heterogeneity among patients. nobody can guarantee anything in terms of prognosis unfortunately

I have basal cell carcinoma on my upper lip. They wanted to go right to Mohs surgery (99% cure rate). I did not want to screw up my face. The thing I did not like is that the surgeon does not know how much tissue he must remove when he begins to cut. It could be a small amount of tissue or a large amount of tissue depending on what he sees under the microscope. I did some homework and found out that there is an alternative called superficial radio therapy (SRT) (95% effective for basal and squamous cell cancers of the skin). Also, 5 fluorouracil cream is about 75% effective is you do the whole course of therapy, but you want a better cure rate than that. I am not a dermatologist so seek professional help. Just wanted to let you know that there may be other options for you.

I believe on the face and back areas they are not really bad- it’s when they are in different areas of the body that they can be dangerous. In the mouth or other organs.

Like the above has said these 2 skin csncers anywhere on skin and face even lip isnt life threatening even if find it late. Most cancers if diagnose to late its not curable but these 2 rarely spread

@@Liamgane2scc definitely spreads. And so does bcc. It might take longer for bcc it all depends.

@@bowtech1020 litterally there is rare cases of scc on skin and bcc that spreads.

My old employers IHS or “LD.” Big problem is in Utah and other dumb red states most docs and staff don’t believe in COVID-19 or variants. They refuse vaccines or masks and Mohs surgery leaves you with a deep crater that involves plastic surgery intervention. But that’s the Mormon Church! Money is always bottom line!

It's insane, isn't it? Ask the people whose family members died from Covid whether or not it is real. I don't know what is wrong with people in the 21st century.
