The whole presidential battle has been a personality circus with little detailed policy, so let's not forget his celebrity status. Trump hosting The Apprentice in the past has had him in the limelight for some time, and he has also arguably focused on more television coverage as candidate
Trump is a close friend of the Clinton family (the children really are friends, so it is highly likely the parents are too). As to whether any past commentary has hurt the relationship? I doubt it. Especially when it comes to two narcissists at war for presidency. Nothing is personal

When I watched this speech on TV four years ago, I thought maybe he would not be as bad a president as I had feared. In this speech, he was relatively presidential and likeable. But after his inauguration, he came back to be this horrible person like before. So glad he lost this year's election.

I voted for Clinton, I always hated Trump but honestly since the election he's grown on me quite a bit. I'm still far from s supporter, but I think this speech is really inspiring and different from the shit he was spewing during his campaign. If he had ran his whole campaign this way, I and I think a lot of other people would have a lot less of a problem with him. I'm getting more hopeful that this might not be the end of the world after all. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Im Australian and had never gone out of my way to watch any US Presidential speeches, but me and my family have been on the edge of our seats waiting for the outcome of the 2020 election, and were just so over the moon at the results.
I then watched Biden's victory speech and it was just stunning. It was strong and graceful and listening to it made me understand why Americans can be so patriotic.
After watching that made me want to watch this………… the only thing i can say is that he talks like Dr Evil from Austin Powers. That is all.
