We’re not just building Northern Nevada. Union members are building successful lives for themselves with:

This orientation will discuss the work of the laborers’ trade and steps to get into the apprenticeship program. We’ll cover it in a series of videos. You'll have to answer questions at the end of each video to move onto the next one. At the end, you’ll be able to apply.

It doesn’t matter where you start. You can earn a great career as a construction craft laborer. We’ll show you how.
I learned a lot. A lot of stuff that helped me out in the field like how to use a forklift. That was a big piece of equipment that came in handy out in the field.
I did concrete, pipe laying, grading, trenches, traffic control. I learned it all in one job.
The Apprenticeship Program is a 2-year program designed to teach you the skills and experience needed to become a highly skilled construction craft laborer.
As an apprentice, you’ll get 300 hours of training - in the classroom and hands-on - for free.
You'll also gain valuable on-the-job experience and training by working 4-thousand hours with our partner employers. In this part of the program, you'll get paid and earn health care, a pension and other benefits that are paid for by the employers. You’ll begin earning health care coverage from the first day you work on the job. Not every trade or employer does this, but we build better lives for our members.
The laborers have the most diverse skill set in the construction industry. Work can include:
Heavy and Highway Construction
Building Construction
Concrete
Demolition
Environmental Remediation
Landscaping
Solar Installation
Pipe Laying
REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
To apply to this program:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be physically able to perform the work of the trade
- You must be eligible to work in the United States.
