  • Addicts are consumed by 1 thing - their addiction. They often don't realize their family members are also consumed by the same thing - their addiction.
An addict's choices and behaviors have a severe impact on the people around them, and trying to help your loved one break from that addiction is a steep uphill battle.
Nate & Tommy share their personal stories about how addiction affected their families and provide some insights and tips for those dealing with an addict in the family.

The point when you’re reasonably aware that you have to let go and turn it over to help, is a good indicator you’re ready for change.

Thanks guys for sharing your thoughts. You are so right about us family members having to deal with the fallout of our loved ones use. It's so vitally important for us to implement boundaries but let them know we love them and support their recovery. Getting support through attending groups or working with a recovery coach is where you will learn to focus on yourself, gaining clarity and recognising it starts with you. The ripple affect is so powerful and will inevitably help your loved one x 😊🙏
    You guys rock x 👍

and if the situation is such that, being a drug addict, a person works and has finances. we live together. I don’t give any money, but it’s unrealistic to kick him out. How can he understand that it is time for treatment? He believes that by reducing the dose, he takes steps, but in fact, even a few doses of cocaine happen every other day. I love him very much and would like to help. But I feel very tired.

My neice just breaks the windows. Kicked the garage door open, doesn’t help. Cops can’t do any thing.
