Just got it today. I am a dress watch kind of guy. Mostly citizen. I have mechnical and solar analogs. I didn't have a digital. Collection didn't feel complete until now. Perfect beater.

It’s a great watch! I’d say have this G-shock and a thinner pretty diver, that’s a perfect 2 watch collection that will work for anything.

This and the DW 8300 are some of my most favorite watches
Decided to get rid of my Polar gps and my Suunto Traverse. I am sick to death of modern technology. Wanted to get back to the basics. Purchased a reissue of the Seiko "Arnie" and now I just bought the g shock 5600. Screw having to plug a watch in every night. My 2 new ones will last me, probably until I'm dead.

Thank you for this video. I have owned dozens and dozens of G-Shocks and the ones with the fancy features such as solar, multiband, compass, altimeter etc always always ALWAYS lose their appeal after a few days.

My Grandfather lent me this watch off his wrist when I went off to study in Europe in college and boy did I put it through the wringer. Handled everything I had to throw at it except maybe dressing up formally. I would 100% wanna have this on my wrist when the end of the world comes..
I would probably want a solar powered version for end of the world shtf times, there is a 5600ue which is solar powered and not that much difference in price, the best all round square imo is the gmw-b5000 stainless steel on a black rubber strap because of its versatility you can wear it at the gym or in the office no problem but then you are talking a considerable hike in price, cool watch though especially with the negative display and black band.
Here we are years later from this video and I bet the watch still works. 💪

I love this watch, I have a different variation of it, but basically the same watch. Definitely worth every penny, a beast of a watch. Those G-shocks 5600 are the first choice of many soldiers as well. Great video Matt, the intro was hilarious 😄
My Affordable Watch Collection thank you my friend. I believe this is the best one watch collection watch you can buy. Whenever someone who is not a watch geek like us asks me what watch they should buy I point them straight this the 5600. It just can’t be beat. I agree I work for the US Marines and the majority of watches that I see them wearing are some form of G-Shock. Love this watch, I have an old ass one, and currently wearing my new one but got Deet bug spray on it didn’t mean too, gonna have to wait for it to naturally buffer out. The deet pretty much melted the plastic on my compass attachment but the gshock held up great. I just bought my first DW 6900 Gshock (Navy Seal watch). Pretty stoked to have another model G and switch them up to keep both in good shape.

I've had mine for 11 years now I replaced the battery 2 years ago , strap and bezel still original this watch is awesome.

I'm trying to decide between this & the 5610. I like the extra daily alarms on the 5610 but the price on the 5600 is hard to pass on.
Went with the 5600. I think it'll do just fine.
Both will work. I bought the 5610 because I like the idea that is has solar so I never have to replace the batter, and also like that it gets radio time so you dont have to set it, but if you dont care about those functions just get the cheaper one.
Absolutely agree with you... best for value are CASIO, and with a 200m shock resistant square G-Shock you really can't get something that meets its level!
Loved the intro, great fun :)) I know what you mean with regards to the buttons, but think it'll be more annoying if you knocked the buttons and it stopped the stopwatch say... so there is a reason for the buttons being a little more hidden... am always knocking my Fenix 6 Pro and it starts something LML :-P

That depends on your taste. Some people like the chunkier feel of the DW5600. The back light is also brighter with the 5600 battery model, and you can view the time in stop watch mode, which is something you can’t do with the 5610 solar model.
I have this watch for 10 plus yrs.
And it will last you another 10 years 😃
you can prolong it by just pressing the light buttom for a long time.

OOHRAH. 0811. King of Battle. Great review. I’ve had these since they first came out, and that first one is still going. Have had other fancy pants versions, and they’re nice, but I come back to this one, every time.
Don't buy the metal version, just throw off the balance and nature of the watch. So stay for the basics or go titanium.
Is there any difference between this and the G-Shock DW-5600CA-8ER
I think build quality dropped when Casio moved its manufacturing to china. On the other hand, the recessed Adjust button and two years battery are the only two things I don't like about this watch, otherwise it's perfect.

@Radu Ardeleanu hehe i think i like the bluetooth function, it helps to synchronize the time easier and way faster than the atomic multi band. find my phone, location tag and it had full auto light (i enjoy it very much , imho).. well everybody have their own opinion.. dw5600 is a great watch too, tough, long last battery, cheaper , and maybe expendable.. all of them is great watches.. hehehe..

You see the word DT Dutch code or time search what is due time or if you don't know what's that is that's ending 2 time for different country that you tracking your country or state what state you from if you from that state truck. Or shorts when you DT time not lying I have one like that
Casio watches would be bulletproof of they didn't use those resin bands. The band always breaks at the clasp.
Metal strap adapters and a quality ballistic nylon Zulu strap takes care of that issue. But then you have the issue of the bezel wearing out. Luckily the bezels for these are cheap and still plentiful online.
What is cost of this watch
I paid $40
i more prefer a w59 though, it's maybe not as rugged but it's also much thinner so it won't get bumped so easily and you almost don't feel it on the wrist. Not as waterproof but unless you go diving you don't need it. It also has a 7 year battery rating instead of 2
I have it for two years still I prefer wearing my f91w daily.
